I had Joanne as my instructor, she was a great teacher helping me not only learn the curriculum to pass my test but other aspects that will help my driving in the future. Joanne’s lesson helped me pass first time with games like the button game, ensuring that during my test I checked all my mirrors and blind spots consistently out of habit. I’d definitely recommend Y2L and Joanne.

Just an update thanks to NEIL I passed my part 3 first time today. In my view his training and his personality and delivery is well above any of the other trainers I have met in this industry as I have had my fair share of poor trainers Neil not only taught me but motivated me to want to complete my qualification process when I was becoming very negative about the whole process. Anybody doing training with Neil will not be disappointed he is the most kind-hearted and passionate person I have met as a trainer. An absolute diamond to the Driving industry and somebody who will always go above and beyond for his clients. Cheers Neil :)

I would highly recommend this driving school to anyone who is wanting to drive, Ross was my driving instructor and he was so patient and made driving lessons a joy!

I had 2 other instructors and 7 months off driving before I found Joanne. I was nervous to start lessons again but Joanne was so incredibly patient and taught me so much. She helped my confidence massively and helped me succeed. I really enjoyed all of Joanne's lessons and her stories. She taught me some interesting facts and especially helped me with faster roads and small country lanes. I cannot thank you enough!

Just passed my ADI Part 3, thanks largely to my trainer, but also significantly to this book of Neil’s. It’s both thorough and easily digestible, which isn’t an easy feat to pull off. I started using everything in the book, including relating what I was doing to the National Standard. Then, as test date drew near, I honed in on the 17 competencies and the elements for each one. The practical demos in the videos were especially useful. I could do without the first part of each video, in which Neil basically reads the text from the book. I’ll definitely be using it again for my Standards Check! I used this book on my Kindle. If you do this, be aware that (as of the time of writing) this isn’t actually a Kindle book, just a PDF, and as such it can be clunky to handle. But it’s perfectly workable with judicious use of bookmarks. I’m very much of the species Homo Kindlensis, and as such I’d still prefer the Kindle version over the clunkier book.

This book is ideal for driving instructors or trainees. It helps you understand what needs to be done to conduct effective driving lessons and the requirements to pass a Standards Check. The text is in easy-to-read sections and the additional videos are also very useful. I highly recommend it.

Had a brilliant experience learning with Neil. I'd previously had other instructors in my younger days, but none were as good as Neil at making me feeling comfortable behind the wheel, and explaining/showing things that made them easier to understand. Overall a 10/10 experience, would recommend to anyone looking to learn.

Having lost confidence when driving with two previous instructors, I can not thank Neil more. He made me feel very comfortable and I quickly regained confidence in my driving. Neil was super friendly and remained calm and safe throughout. Very flexible with lesson timings and content and always gave extra help when needed. Neil Wightman demystifies the standards check with his excellent book, Untwisting the road to success. But it’s more than just a Standards Check book. It’s a breakdown on how to deliver a driving lesson. This book made me want to work with Neil, and it’s one I regularly recommend.

I couldn’t recommend Y2 Learn highly enough. Neil got all three of my children successfully through their driving tests, all of which passed 1st time! Lovely guy & good prices.

Having learned with two previous driving instructors over my five years of on and off driving lessons, Natalya has stood out with her excellent focus on what is important as well as her dedication and care for your success. Thanks to Natalya's great teaching, care and flexibility I was able to quickly become test ready, with the only delay being waiting for a test slot! Her genuine care helped me feel much more confident and relaxed during the test than I may have been, helping me pass on my first attempt. I can absolutely recommend Natalya if you are in the area and wish to learn either manual or automatic!

Was a great experience throughout all lessons and was very accommodating to certain problems I had while driving. For example when I was struggling on hill starts she allowed me to repeat them however many times I needed to get it right. Furthermore my instructor prepared me for real life driving by doing country lane driving,night driving and multi story car park driving and motorways. My instructor was always supportive of when I made a mistake and helped me understand what I did to cause the mistake and how to improve it. For example she helped me when I stalled when I let the clutch up to fast and explained that I needed to be more gentle when bringing it up. Overall I had a great experience while learning to drive with jo. Would recommend to anyone.

i couldn’t recommend anyone better that neil Wightman and joanne Pritchard. i started out with neil but as it came to my practical i had to move instructors and go with joanne. unfortunately i don’t pass first time but joanne and neil were really supportive and neil helped me prepare for my test and helped by going over the show me tell me question. joanne and neil are both very flexible and fit round my hours on availability i didn’t have to fit round them.

Just passed my test second time. I can’t thank Neil enough, he is an amazing instructor and taught me not only how to drive but also how to calm my nerves. Would highly recommend Neil to anyone, especially young nervous drivers.
