Big order to celebrate why wife’s belated Grandads birthday. Fish was cooked to perfection. Best Cod on the town. Even impressed the fussiest of eaters!

Very disappointed with quality of both cod & haddock. No way this was fresh fish. Also very overcooked & dry Have used CJs since it opened but won’t use them again

Last two orders have been awful. Tiny pieces lukewarm fish. I've never had chips so dry I've had to have a drink with them. Also lukewarm. All tasteless. Used to be great. Won't go there any more. Expensive too

Waited an hour 15 mins and when it showed up there was a hair in it and food was cold. I've never had a bad meal from here till now. 😞

Ordered food at 16.50. 19.00 still waiting. Shocking service . Kept telling me it's on its way. Would avoid if possible. You will be disappointed. Absolutely rubbish.

Waited for a table for 45 minutes after being told 10. Only to then be humiliated and shouted at infront of the whole restaurant for their mistake in seating us. The lady was extremely rude after providing us with a high chair and telling us where to put it. Only to then scream at us. We left before even sitting down or looking at the menu. Would not recommend to anyone requiring a high chair as they class this as a health and safety issue due to their tiny, non family friendly, air conditioning lacking restaurant.

I appreciate that it was good Friday and they are going to be busy. I arrived at 6.30pm and was still waiting over 30 minutes later. I spoke to the girl who was on the till as to how long for my order, her reply I don't know I am not the cook. Orders on the phone were put in front of the shop orders. Tables were not cleared and no one could really eat in. No communication, rude till staff. They should off put more staff on to cater for how busy they were and should of put a pause on the orders being received until they caught up. Very disappointed as food is very nice there. I gave a 1 rating for the service and no communication from the staff.

I went for pie and chips how did chips get so expensive when I opened them I can only think they must be last nights left overs for £3.50 for a small portion, I was horrified with how few chips I got and they looked worse for wear ended up in the bin, pie went after. I used to like this place I wont be going back. I have pics if CJ,s want to see what I got served 😡

Ordered cod and chips, haddock and chips,2 fishcakes and chips, battered sausage and small curry sauce and 3 pineapple fritters. Very disappointed with the chips when they arrived in takeaway boxes they looked liked they were from lunch time I order came a 19.00pm not very hot at all. The pineapple fritters were dripping with grease. I have ordered before and the chips was wrapped in paper not a takeaway box. I payed £35

I can honestly say the cod I had delivered tonight was piping hot and the best I’ve ever tasted. I would highly recommend

Poor service I asked for salt and vinegar they replied me back with an angry voice that they are very busy that I should go put salt and vinegar by myself and they’ve already packed it. The other lady asked what the problem was I repeated the same word please can I have salt and vinegar she replied me with angry loud voice that I should take it home and sort my salt and vinegar that some people have an allergic. I don’t have allergic I never mentioned allergic to her. The fish was like as if it was dipped in an oil and gave it to me, the oil was dripping off from the fish. They act as bunch of family that love fight and argument😟

Could provide better service

Fish was small (but tasty) for the cost and have had much bigger piece elsewhere (Cornwall). Unfortunately, it still had the skin on the one side which I dislike intensely. Huge amount of chips but would prefer a better piece of cod, and skinless. Food was hot.

They didn't ask if I wanted salt and vinegar on my large order £45 so when he called me up to collect he had to unpack everything and put Salt and vinegar on everything I thought this was common practice when going to a fish and chip shop He keem over like he was put out in doing this .fish was over cooked batter was good chips average no fish and chip flavor or smell as you walk into the shop no smiles .bit over priced to be honest .will not be going here again poor is a understatement

I have never been treated so badly when I simply called to order take out fish and chips. I will never go back. Try treating your customers properly. We pay your paychecks.

This is my favourite fish and chip shop of those I’ve tried in Harlow. Food is always cooked to perfection. The staff are friendly. I haven’t had any over-cooked batter, bland burgers or soggy chips here.

Take out | Dinner | £20–30 Food good if you get what you order serving staff attitude stinks, if you order through their app order goes through but when you turn up to collect they don't know the difference between breast of chicken and thigh

Always, always delicious! Always! Tried loads of things on the menu and it's all delicious! So fresh with crispy batter and proper chip-shop chips. I've never had a soggy, greasy chip from CJs.
