Their reviews on the site seem completely planted - I should have known better than to order from this site. Pay a little more and get the genuine thing - you are literally throwing away money with these folks.

United States | 18 June 2020Recently bought some filters from these jokers under the assumption that they're selling genuine Berkey filters. Upon installation, the water in the collection tank smelled bad so I filtered and dumped for a few cycles, hoping the odor would disappear. It did not, so I contacted Berkey to report that I had gotten some bad filters from one of their affiliates. They responded by indicating that Clatterans is not a Berkey affiliate and that these were not genuine Bereky filtration elements. Immediately contacted Clatterans to enquire about where their filters are made and so the deception began. They dodged the question several times, suggesting that they have warehouses in New York and Los Angeles but eventually admitted that these are Chinese made elements. No longer confident in the quality of their product and unwilling to put up with the foul odor, I pushed them to accept the item as a return. There response, aside from a less than sincere apology, was that the purchase is final once the filters have been used - irrespective of the issue. In the first place, why would I install Chinese filters in my all U.S. made Berkey purifier? It doesn't make sense to me, but they couldn't seem to understand that. Turns out the filters are just cheap coconut charcoal elements and cannot deliver the performance I have come to expect from my Berkey system over the years. Furthermore, I tried to write a testimonial on the Clatterans website several days ago and was told my review would be posted upon approval. Low and behold, my review was nowhere to be found. In fact, there are no negative reviews for any of the products on their website. None whatsoever! All 4 and 5 star reviews only. How is this even remotely believable? I'll tell you how. It's not and I'm pretty sure a lot of those reviews are phony like baloney! UPDATE: Classic Clatterans response. 'Sorry. What's your order number?' Same reply to every post. Sounds like it was written by a robot. My guess is they're just trying to act like they care, but I think people are smart enough to see through that. Got my genuine Berkey filters not long after, so I'm happy again. Went to remove the Clatterans filters and the charcoal started flaking off in my hand. Not very encouraging. I mean it's just charcoal, but I don't want it floating around in the top tank. Super cheap construction! Let's see if I get a response to my update. Perhaps something along the lines of 'Sorry. What's your order number'?

United States | 03 June 2020Surprise! Surprise! I finally received my refrigerator filters, and they appear to be just fine although it took nearly a month to get them. I had read the the negative reviews, but I took a chance because only this company offered the exact product number I needed. In addition, they were much cheaper than what I had paid in the past. It was worth a try, and I did use PayPal to avoid giving them my credit card details. It didn't bode well that my card was billed immediately after I ordered, but I guess all's well that ends well. I called customer service after about two weeks of silence. Someone answered immediately and was reasonably genial, considering that I wasn't. If the filters don't last as long as the more expensive ones, at least I got three for the price of one from Sears.

United States | 30 May 2020I ordered 3 water filters and a 6 pack of air filters from Clatterans. This was the first time I have used the company. All were shipped under the same USPS tracking order and accordingly show the same delivery date. The confirmation tracking states that a package, (singular), was put in my mailbox. The water filters arrived on the shipping date and were stuffed in my mailbox. The air filters have never been delivered. The air filters were not in the same package as the water filters. If they had been, the package would not have fit in the mailbox. I contacted Clatterans, or King Overseas YKS, to tell them the air filters had not arrived and was told to ask my neighbors and check in hidden places. I have spent a month trying to obtain a refund. My last correspondence wanted me to prove that I did not receive! Really. I have never been told if the items were sent in one package or two. They have never confirmed with the post office the number of packages. They have been unwilling to resolve the issue or attempt to track how the items were packed and shipped. I would not recommend purchasing any items from this company. They have proven to be unreliable and unprofessional. This is a brilliant way to scam people out of money by asking them to prove they did not receive a package. I think they should be asking their warehouse to prove the item was shipped.

United States | 27 May 2020I ordered filters from this company on 4/30. I still have not received them. I called twice and each time was told my order would ship the following day. Still no filters. I have filled a complaint with PayPal seeking a refund and would not recommend this company at all. It seems like a scam. I am going to notify my credit card company and the state attorney generals office if I don't get resolution very soon.

After countless hours listening to an IVR over several days, the person spoken with also had no tracking information for what I purchased! Promised to get back to me and never did! Looks like the company is actually owned by “Golden Sea Services Limited” based in Hong Kong!

United States | 19 April 2020Purchased on line 2 filters using PaPal as the intermediate payment broker. PayPal sent a confirmation with Clatterans Order number. Seven days later I used the track order feature on Clatterans website and it returned a NO ORDER FOUND. My credit card was charged the order amount plus a separate transaction fee of about $2. The Clatterans website also posted that this was a co-assignment purchase which means Clatterans is an go between the mfg of the filter and me - in other words a middle man. I am canceling this order with PayPal, place a dispute with both Paypal and my credit card plus put Clatterans on notice of my cancellation. I am speaking with my state attorney's office to see about this transaction.

When I tried to contact company, they said the had no record of my order I sent them order number and told them I paid by PayPal, and the said they found my order and would ship filters. So far no information on order and have tried calling and get voice mail, but no response. I am going to contact PayPal and request refund and file complaint

They send packages with fake tracking numbers, no details in tracking, do destination address, etc. They doe not email you when they ship with tracking details so as to alert you to be waiting for the package. They transfer blame on carrier. They use carriers who seem to transfer to other carriers, etc. so as to loose the package in translation. Again, no details in tracking, just a confirmation on delivery.Very fishy!

Now I am stuck with $60 worth of unopened filters that don't fit my fridge. I was actually told to put them on Craigslist by the customer service rep. You've lost my business and my recommendation.

United States | 17 October 2019I ordered 10 days ago and still haven't received water filters. I've used their portal to send three requests for shipping info. No reply. No customer service number or actual email. I called my credit card and disputed the charge. DO NOT ORDER FROM THIS INTERNET FRAUD. If its too good to be true........Horrible company and will never recommend. Even if I get them sometime in the future,I will refuse them as I don't trust the quality because if customer service is this poor, can you imagine the quality control in some horrible Chinese sweatshop. Beware!
