Transferring money to Gcash takes ages. Slow response from agent via fb messenger. High service fee compared to others.

Have used this remittance service about 5 years ago, I can’t remember why I stopped using them but I tend to use different ones every time my family needs support. The two remittance services I used last year were very good with remittance money credited within hours after funds have arrived to their accounts, and charges a lot less as well though exchange rate slightly less. I send money to my mother via my sister who works in a bank in the Philippines. Two days ago, I decided to use Kabayan again although their charges at £4.99 are higher than the others, but just to test their efficiency. Well, a very big mistake as I found out that it is the most inefficient remittance service I have used in few years. I started the transaction on February 2 just after midday UK time, the money was paid straightaway to their Metro Bank account. My bank confirmed it was credited to their account within an hour of my transferring the money. I even emailed the bank transfer receipt to Kabayan to prove it had been paid. But 24 hours later, I received an email from Kabayan to say I haven’t transferred funds yet. Really? Any stupid person would just go and pay again, thinking the first transaction didn’t go through. This delaying tactic is a disgrace and an insult to my intelligence! I emailed and emailed the second day (Feb 3) and eventually got a phone call back from Kabayan, the usual delaying tactic... we will investigate. I’ve checked with my sister again, who should know how banking systems work as she and husband are bankers, but the money I sent via Kabayan has not been passed on yet. I wonder how many unsuspecting Filipinos have fallen victim to these practices. Never will I use this again, if only they credit the money soon.
