About Parallel Skiing e.V.

Parallel Skiing is a registered Sports Club in Germany and itself a member of the Bayersiche Landes Sport Verband BLSV. We are made up mostly of expats living and working in Munich mostly from Asia and Eastern Europe. Our language of communication is English. We promote recreational winter sports among our expats and we concentrate mostly on alpine skiing but have occasional sledging, ice skating and cross-country skiing. We specialize in teaching those of our members, who have never skied, to ski using the direct parallel short ski method. We have our own ski equipment that we provide to our members and we organize lodging and car-sharing for our ski trips. We also offer a Kinderskikurs München at which we speak English and German.

I’ve never skied before, so I’m my early 50s I strapped a pair of skis on for the first time with Parallel Skiing. An excellent way to learn, by the 4th day of instruction we were on a red run. Very friendly instructors and you change groups throughout each day so you’re always skiing in a group that matches your ability. Highly recommended.

Using this short ski method, I lost my fear of skiing and had full control of my skis during the whole course. This was years ago, but I still recommend Parallel Skiing e.V. to my friends. They've raved about it to me, including the bunny courses for their kids.

Excellent instructors, friendly environment, and also convenient weekend schedule. Last season(2022 Jan) I was not able to complete the entire course because of Covid. So I have enrolled for the upcoming season.

Excited to sign up my sons for their first ski course, because of great reviews. Shocked to see that its still mandatory to have a Covid 19 vaccination after all the data coming out that it does not help against infection. Know the facts before discriminating against people having informed choices. No business for these kind of companies from us.

Great atmosphere, fantastic teachers & excellent learning techniques. I never thought that I would be able to ski. After 3 weekends of the course in beautiful Austria I could go skiing with my new ski buddies, i can’t imagine winter without skiing. So much fun!

It's an excellent ski course with lot of fun. Kids learn with fun games and by the end of the second day they confidently slide down the learning curve is really steep with the methods that are used we are very happy.

I'm giving 5 stars for my experience with Parallel Skiing because it was the first time I ever experienced FUN while skiing. I learnt so much despite myself and my fear of sliding and falling. I had already learnt to ski before, but it was a chore, not something I really wanted to do. But the teaching method is so ridiculous, you can't get over laughing and I always felt comfortable with my extra-short skis. Thank you very much to Parallel Skiing and all the enthusiastic teachers!

I used to be scared to death to let my skis slide on the snow. While all my friends skied on the black and red slopes, I would "play" in the baby slope. I put the play between quotation marks because it was everything other than play, it was a battle against myself which ended with me dropping myself to the side and crying. Then one day a friend of mine mentioned about Parallel Skiing saying "they make everyone ski" and I was hooked. I signed up to the program right away. Their approach to learning made things easier for me: we did start with the tinies skies, we got to learn on being on the skies with some playful exercises and every hour, every day, we added a bit more to it where in the end we skied from a red slope (some even skied the black slope). They made the learning easier but it still was not easy for me because of where I was coming from. I had a lot of internal resistance and I needed many tries. But the greatest thing was that there was always a teacher with me, celebrating me, encouraging me, supporting me. Thanks to their teaching style, the program, and the care and patience of teachers I am no longer afraid and I can ski. On top of it, the community is amazing. The weekends are so much fun and you get to make many friends coming from all over the world. I suggest everyone who want to learn ski in a fun way and as part of a community to join the courses of Parallel Skiing.
