Ordered the chocolate box with the photo for both grandmothers for Mother’s Day in Ireland as we live in the Netherlands.They arrived today and omg they were beautiful even down to the packaging absolutely stunning , the grandmothers called today to say they arrived and were over the moon with them, thank youuuuu.

I have ordered from Lilly O'Brien a few times in the past. Recent order arrived & one of the boxes of chocolates was damaged on one of the corners. They are a present for Mother's Day & the box looks a bit second hand. I will imagine the contents will be as lovely as usual.

The problem with many chocolate and food companies today is the disgraceful habit of increasing prices by stealth. The latest to do this is Lily O’Brien. I bought a box of the ‘Ultimate Collection’ which seemed a little light on weight. It was 190g but it was, until recently, 212g. Sure enough the price had not increased but the company is hoping that you don’t realise that the box has shrunk in size. The assumption is that we are all thick and won’t realise. It is a problem, of course, because often we don’t realise. Some years later it can suddenly hit you when you remember, for example,how big Waggon Wheels used to be in the 1960s! Personally I would prefer for the size to be left alone and possibly suffer a price increase. At least I can then make a considered judgement whether to buy or not.
