I bought 115 feet of 5/32" Amsteel line for my 3000 pound winch. It had 26 feet of 1/4" Polyethylene line and I needed to get more line on the spool. I removed some of the protective webbing from the inner and outer ends of the original line to give me a little bit more room. The smaller but equally strong Amsteel line allowed me to get 60 feet on the spool and I am very happy with the purchase. I'll splice loops in the ends of the the left over Amsteel line and the Polyehylene line and use them as extensions when I need them for longer applications. I didn't put thimbles in the eyes of the loops since I will be using carabiners at the ends of the lines anyway. I use this winch to pull my drift boat up wooden skid ramps to the parking area of the river landings. I put PVC pipes under the boat to either roll it up or I just let it slide on the pipe instead of the hull of the boat. Both work quite well using the winch that is attached to the trailer winch strap and secured to the trailer skids with handle lines.

I ordered a whole set of gudgeons.THE Picture and description clearly portrays a set.IT SAYS'S NOTHING ABOUT HAVING TO PURCHASE THEM ONE PEICE AT A TIME.
