I needed a good camera to take close up photos of items my wife sells on Etsy. With a limited budget and after reading several reviews I decided on the Nikon D3100. Most camera shops have gone the way of the rotary dial phone being replaced by the big box electronic stores with no real knowledgeable camera sales people. So I searched on line for camera shops and I called The Camera Box in Brooklyn. Sure enough I got right through and had a nice talk with a helpful lady who said my choice of cameras would do fine. I bought my camera as a Christmas present to myself. I checked for days looking for the best deal, but more importantly, someone I could trust. I found that with TheCameraBox. On some of the other places I checked, they seemed like better deals price wise, but with more research, I found out they were selling gray market with no warranty and no service. Not with TheCameraBox. They had all of the warranties. The service was also excellent. I ordered on a Saturday and the shipping label was printed on Sunday. Yes, they do work on Sunday to get things out quicker. I could not be more pleased with the purchase.

I have a mini-cam and mainly use it to video school events. I decided it was time to replace the tripod that came with my 8mm Handicam. I choose the SLIK Compact tripod. It is solid enough to hold more than it is rated for. The relative short height is perfect for filming sitting in bleachers or if standing by tilting the view screen. TheCaneraBox had the lowest price i could find and I received it very quickly, especially considering it was over New Years and a major snow storm to boot.

...I was looking for Nikon 3100 body, wishing to invest in this affordable, though somewhat outdated camera body. My plan was to buy the body first, and then decent lens like Nikon fixed 35mm f1.8. Other sellers had this particular camera but only in kit configuration. And thecamerabox had full range of this 3100 Nikons - bodies, kjits, and even referbished ones. The prices were more than adequate, comparing to those I find here, even with Priority Mail shipping. So that was easy choice. The camera is exactly what I needed, and can say I hit the mark!
