I wouldn’t even leave 1 star. Awful customer service. I got completely over charged and they were so rude on the phone and hung up on me because I had already paid. I will never used again!

Quoted and paid £18 to go from Horley to Gatwick. Picked up on time. Nothing changed about our journey, quick as an early morning pick up but I have been charged £30! Avoid, do not trust!

Horrific and scary experience. Do not use if you’re travelling solo. They arrived 10 minutes late and then had 2 calls hassling me to come out. Got in the car and noticed the price was starting at £6.30 - enquired as to why this was as no journey had been commenced. Was told that they (the driver) didn’t set the prices which of course I understood and accepted, but wondered if there was a premium as it was a Saturday night. For enquiring again as I wasn’t given an answer, I was then told by the driver he was refusing to take me home and would ‘drop me on the road’. I told him his behaviour was making me uncomfortable, about 4 or 5 times as he was refusing to listen whilst he reversed to drop me on the side of the road, at which point he called the owner - Kabir - and said he was refusing to take me on my journey. I then asked the owner why the journey staring at £6.30 before moving to which he said ‘I don’t know the reason for that’. My driver repeated he would not take me home and said ‘she asks too many questions’. Kabir told the driver he must take me as he has no one else to help. I said I didn’t want to travel with him as he was being aggressive and was the told I have no choice. The driver agreed to take me, turned his rear view mirror to my direction and said ‘don’t you talk for the whole journey, I don’t want to hear anymore questions, I don’t want to hear your voice’. Shocked, I sat in silence. I called my husband who is away with work to tell him about my experience. Only at this Point, the driver turned on the internal light and tried to apologise to me. I told him I didn’t want to speak to him and just wanted to get home. On arrival he again tried to apologise and justify his behaviour, to which I said there was no justification and his behaviour made me feel vulnerable and uncomfortable. Do not use this company. For the safety of others, I make will make a recommendation to the local authority to have their license removed.

Awful cowboy firm, if I could give 0 stars I would. Booked in advance for a 1.6 mile trip to a wedding and quoted approx £6.50 online. They waited till an hour before I had to be at a wedding to say the fare is wrong and had to pay £15..I complained and he offered me a discount to £13 or he would cancel, so I confirmed I wasn't happy but needed a taxi. 5mins before they were due to turn up they called and said the person before was training and infact the fare was now £20! For a 1.6mile trip and pay or they would cancel...this was due to me having to pay for the cab to come to me in haywards heath from Crawley before collecting me. Even though this firm advertise as being in haywards heath and east Grinstead hence why i booked them.... Never have I ever had such bad service....to call so late to a booking leaving no options when it was booked 4 days in advance is disgusting. Avoid avoid avoid. They didn't even turn up for the return journey and sent a message to say it was cancelled as a no show! Thank god for a more civiliallised local taxi firm for coming to the rescue.

I know running a cab company can, at times, be hard, but Western Cars are late to pick me up every time. What is worse, is that they NEVER apologise for being late. So frustrating!!

We pre-booked and pre-paid £105 for Western cars to pick up me and my friends (4 young girls) outside a bar for our friend’s birthday for 1.45am. At 1.45am however there was no sign of our taxi and I proceeded to call them and ask to which I found the taxi had not even been scheduled in to pick us up. They came 1 hour late and we were stranded outside in the cold not able to return into the bar as it was closed which was a very bad circumstance when we are young and vulnerable. They also did not trust that we booked and paid for the taxi so I had to send them the receipts. Since then they have not given any money back and have ignored our requests with no formal apology and we will not use them again as this was a very unsafe circumstance.

We missed the last train whilst in Horsham last night and felt stranded! We phoned Western Cars and they despatched a driver to collect us straight away. The communication was amazing and we were advised of when our taxi arrived and the reg plate. The driver was friendly and ensured that we had got in the front door safely before he left. We were quoted a fixed price which was the price we paid. I will definitely be saving their number in my phone for when we next need a taxi.

We had booked a taxi to go to an event at 7pm along side a return booking at 12pm. We were then called at 6.58pm to be informed that the driver was 25 minutes away, when pre booking taxis you would expect to have it turn up on time. When speaking to the operator they didn’t have our return journey either which was also pre booked. Useless, unprofessional and rude, with no apologies either or any suggestions or help from there onward

Dangerous Driving!!! On a recent journey home from Gatwick Airport we experienced a driver who could only be described as all over the place. Regularly swerving into the centre of the road, taking corners dangerously and nearly colliding with a central reservation. After complaining we were told this was down to the driver 'avoiding minor hazards', which is entirely wrong and quite frankly an offensive response. We can only put this down to overworking drivers, or a complete lack of care in who they are employing. After using Western for years, we will not be using again.

I've used Western Cars quite a few times for local journeys- their booking app is great and their automated telephone booking is very useful. However, I rang up to book a cab, the operator was really rude and told me they only did airport journeys. Not sure if this is a recent change, I used their services locally last month. No other options given and hung up on. Not a great experience.

No stars for this company I rang up and asked for a Taxi from Uckfield to Buxted station which is about 3 miles they said they couldn’t do the job because it was out of their area!!!! and here’s me thinking they go to any area and if they did do the job I would have to pay up front😳 but it would cost 45.00 !!!!!! well I nearly fainted what an absolutely awlful company I would never ever use them 😡

Zero stars! Terrible service from the start. -Pre-payment set up complicated -Booking address errors so had to call back to rectify -On taxi arrival (late), driver refused to take passenger as there is no note of pre-paid journey. Advised our client paid and claimed it back. We had already paid £360!!! -Taxi 30 min late, although apparently unless you state you need 'meet and greet' this is usual service- NOT communicated at the start. -Upon requesting a VAT invoice. This is not something they can provide (they are VAT registered) as I need to be set up with an account again NOT communicated. For future reference the journey cost would have been £360 + 20%- BARGAIN! Overall, it was very clear that this was a business related journey (payment taken from a business and the nature of the journey) so above information should have been clearly communicated. Terrible service, communication and delivery. AVOID at all costs! We will never use this firm again.

Excellent service. This was the first time we used Western Cars to get to and from Gatwick. They gave immediate responses by texts to my bookings and then another text to say that a taxi was on its way with reg. no., colour and make of vehicle. We were picked up at the times booked by courteous and helpful drivers and the quoted prices were adhered to. Would definitely use them again.

Ordered a taxi a few weeks in advance via their app for a wedding we were attending. We needed a minimum of 6 seats as we were intending to travel with our 3 children. Without any notice or notification the taxi was cancelled on the day leaving us completely without transport. When we called to ask why our car was cancelled they would not give us an answer and quoted £30 more than the price we were originally given to reinstate the booking. Very disappointed.

Booked westerncars for the next day at midday, for a trip from burgess hill into brighton. They cancelled it without letting me know due to no available drivers which led me to waiting for a no show taxi and making me miss my graduation lunch. Avoid at all costs.
