1. They charge credit card fees. The reality is that if we paid cash they would have to pay a huge amount to a security company to take it away. No other high value company passes these fees on. 2. Their reviews when you google them are BS. Look on Product Review and here and you get the real picture. Shady company, shady management clearly. Vote with your wallet. If we let them win then they win. This is not on.

I had really wanted to build my 9800X3D upgrade with an Asrock X870E motherboard, I contacted ASRock who had advised me that a shipment had arrived at Centrecom. I called Centrecom and spoke to the owner of the company, and that I had wanted to place a backorder on the motherboard that was coming in. The owner told me they don't have a shipment from ASRock and don't plan to sell their motherboards this year at all. Disappointed, I purchased a different motherboard. However I found out a few days later that Centrecom had started selling the motherboard I had enquired about, and realised I had been lied to. For whatever reason the owner of Centrecom did not want to sell me the board, likely reasons I can think of is he couldn't be bothered taking a backorder, or is simply clueless about the shipment entering his company. Given this experience, I would not be purchasing at Centrecom again in the future.

Ordered a custom PC via their website. A couple of parts were listed as pre-order (delivery in 2-5 days). After a week of not hearing from them, i contacted them. Was told parts wouldn't be in for another week. They offered me to cancel my order. After a few more days of waiting and continuing to check the status of my order (which still said order hadn't even begun being processed). I decided to cancel my order and take my business elsewhere. They seemed fine with me cancelling the order, but then a few hours after i cancelled my order i got an email from them saying my order was "ready for pickup" (3-4 days earlier than they said it would take to get the parts) and due to this i had to pay a 15% restocking fee. I checked the status of my order online again and it still said it hadn't even begun being processed. They keep saying my refund is being processed. Then the next day or two they send me another email says "partial refund". I requested the refund 11 days ago and still haven't gotten anything back. Terrible tactic holding my money ransom until i fold and accept a 15% restock fee on an order that wasn't even processed. Steer clear

I've now had two purchases from Centre Com online & on both occasions I've been very happy with the quality, the prices & especially the speed at which I received my goods to rural Tasmania. Also, my emails were replied to quickly & helpfully. They get 10/10 from me.

WARNING!!!!! This company does not follow the Australian Consumer Law when dealing with faulty products. I bought over $5000 worth of components to build a new computer in January 2024 and in less than 10 months the motherboard completely stopped working. Despite having the original receipt and box, I took it back and they refused to refund me. They believe that having me wait 4 weeks without a computer while they send it off to the manufacturer for them to repair or replace it with a refurbished motherboard is an appropriate solution. That is an unacceptable, not to mention an unlawful solution for a faulty product that is worth over $500!

WARNING to consumers in particular small business owners. I purchased a MSI 17 Laptop in June 2024 and it stopped working 1 November 2024. Contacted Centre Com Richmond they advised that it would take between 2 to 4 weeks to get repaired, they didn't provide a loan laptop or PC for the interim due to their policies. If you require business continuity do not waste your money at Centre Com their are alternatives such as Dell that will honour their warranty and come to your place of business to repair or replace

On Thursday 12th September 2024 I rang and spoke to somebody to question the 15% restocking fee they got extremely abusive with me and they said there is nothing I can do for you so get lost. I will never step foot inside this store again and I would advise others to do the same.

I hope my comment appears publicly because the Centcom team is really made up of kind and cooperative individuals who are also highly qualified and experienced. In addition to that, they are kind and patient in solving customers’ problems. They cooperated with me in a professional and very nice way, especially Mr. Ben, who was responsible for maintaining my computer and was following the problem step by step until he discovered the fault in the processor and solved the problem as quickly as possible and in the best way. I am really grateful for all this kindness and respect in addition to the experience and professional competence that Centcom’s team possesses.

I’ve had a less than ideal experience with Centrecom. While their prices are competitive, several key issues have made it difficult to recommend them for serious purchases. Website & User Experience: Their website feels outdated, like a high school project from 2004. It’s clumsy to navigate, with poor filtering options and a frustrating user experience. Communication from the company is slow and often unclear. Order Fulfillment: Orders are processed slowly, with delays in receiving items compared to other retailers like Amazon, Samsung, and Bose. No invoices are attached to emails, which means you have to dig through their poorly designed ecosystem to find important order details. Additional Fees: While prices are low, they tack on fees for card payments, which is something to consider when comparing costs with other retailers. Packaging: The packaging is shockingly inadequate. Orders arrive wrapped in stretch film and bubble wrap, similar to what you'd expect from an amateur eBay seller. This raises concerns about potential damage in transit, which could invalidate warranties. Terms & Conditions: Their terms and conditions are ambiguous and not aligned with Australian consumer law. When I inquired further, they sent out additional terms that seemed excessive and, frankly, invalid. Requests for returns are met with unreasonable demands, costs, and expectations that aren’t in line with Australian consumer protection. Final Verdict: If you need basic items like cables, desk mats, or phone chargers, Centrecom might be worth the risk due to the low prices. However, for more serious purchases, especially if you’re spending significant money, the potential downsides far outweigh the benefits. I highly recommend looking elsewhere for high-value items.

I purchased a Samsung S23 FE from them and and realised I was meant to buy S23 not S23 FE. So I contacted them and was told they don't refund if it is 'change mind' and it is their policy. Who would go check the policy before buying things? Anyway I apologized for the inconvience cause and told them I have raised a ticket the next day after I purchased and I did not open the box at all ect no response. I strongly advise you check their policies before you buy anything. This is the first company in Australia that I came across refusing to refund even when the item is not opened, still brand new in the package.

I bought an ASUS laptop for a very good price which was delivered to Brisbane within a week of purchase. I had hesitated after reading so many scathing reviews but added delivery insurance for .1% of purchase price for piece of mind. I’m still unsure about the legitimacy of some of the poor reviews.

Purchased a Samsung Odyssey G7 monitor from the Frankston store in April. Monitor developed scan lines after 4 months. As per the Australian Consumer Law, this is a major fault. Store refused to do anything except for repair, even after I showed them the ACL website and requesting a refund as per my right. Also, after a Google search, this is a common issue with Samsung monitors, which I also advised. They would not budge and only offerred repair. They do not care about Australian Laws, and now I am out of a monitor for my computer waiting for a repair where most likely the issue will reoccur. They've lost me as a customer and will be reporting them to the Department of Fair Trading and ACCC.

they give a telephone number for 'Help'. the only help that gives is to say when they are open - they do not take calls. they have a number for manual verification of bank accounts - that number does not even answer, and 'Optus advises that the mobile number (sic) that you dialled has been disconnected'. They do not take a PO Box for delivery, fair enough, but they also refuse it as a billing address!

Company sold a faulty product, and refused to refund it - something required under Australian consumer law given the product suffered a major failure requiring more then a month of repair time. Not to mention they steadfastly ignored any queries related to such case.

Centre com have somehow gotten my email address overnight despite never having visited nor engaged with their content. Evidently they’re buying data from somewhere. Despicable.

Sent me a returned motherboard without checking it. Came with bent and broken pins, dirt, broken seals on the box, no tape on the anti-static cover. Wouldn’t accept a refund.

two separate items, denied warranty for customer induced damage, does not show what was damaged, one item was replaced by manufacturer under warranty with no damage, other item wasn't even broken it was a different item on it. Extremely scummy business with no regards to consumer rights, will be reported to the ACCC and will contact my bank about a chargeback, do not buy here unless you want to burn money,
