United Kingdom | 28 February 2021I contacted Utility Smart as an alternative to British Gas to connect our property in London to a gas supply not having been connected before. Utility Smart promptly provided a quotation and as I was happy with the cost for connection and the associated excavations, permit etc. as well as the largely positive trust pilot feedback, paid for the work in full. From this point however, things went quickly downhill. After nearly a five week wait and having heard nothing from them, I got in contact to find out what was happening. They had omitted to arrange for the surveyor to visit the property for the work to be arranged subsequently. The surveyor was arranged within the week and the survey conducted, however the available date for the work is some six weeks from the date of the survey, causing huge delays (and ultimately cost) to the start of loft conversion work and other renovation work at the property. The senior project manager kindly committed to attempting to seek a sooner date based on any cancellations, however her efforts were in vein as she was powerless in changing the situation with updates on this having to be chased. The excuse could understandably be aimed at the issues caused by the pandemic however their bid and finance teams appear to be suffering no such issues. Therefore, based on this experience, I would not recommend, nor will we be using Utility Smart for involvement any future time-critical project.

United Kingdom | 18 February 2021Overall I am delighted with the work carried out- the first team were very polite and carried out the initial work- The lady who came to install the meter was very dedicated to the job in hand and I am very pleased with the meter installation,very neat and placed very well in my garage.. The clearing of the site and completion of filling in the groundwork was on four levels-Three teams carried out the filling and one person cleared the site. The filling was good but the site was left in a mess and in particular the public footpath. After the equipment was removed I used my power washer to clean up the area. Shortly afterwards a Gentleman from the Borough Council carried out an inspection of the site. I hope these comments are of use to you. Many thanks for your services. David Richardson

We needed a new connection to a property we have recently purchased - having not done anything like this before we found the team to be really helpful and explained everything to us. We did receive quotes from other companies, however we found that Utility Smart were not only competitive on price, they were the easiest to deal with, even offering an option to 'Spread the Cost' of the works so we did not have to pay the full amount upfront. Although we mainly spoke with Carl as he was managing the works, on the rare occasion he wasn't available, the other staff members were more than helpful and would answer any queries that we had. The works went smoothly on the day and the engineers were done in no time and on their way. A couple of days later and the meter was installed too! Very happy and would highly recommend, especially when trying to juggle the purchase of a new house, it was one less thing we had to worry about.

Had a quote for 5 gas connections.Steven sent me a quote, my contractors and I told him we need the gas meters in the building. Steven yes we can do that. If you pay 1500 deposit I will send my guy to pay a site visit and with a small variation in price I will get it done. I promise you a full refund if price is too high. Once he got the money all changed. You having what we quoted and we are keeping your money for the non existant work we have done so far. STEVEN WILL OFFER YOU HIS SOUL TO SEAL THE DEAL. WHAT LOWLIFE FOR A HUMAN BEING. His director Chris a mouse who hides behind the phone. IF YOU ARE UNFORTUNATE ENOUGH TO GET A QUOTE GET IT SIGNED BEFORE ANYTHING AT ALL. DOUBLE CHECK WHAT THEY ARE OFFERING. Steven and Chris are always right. Honest customers can lose their money. Pure greed..Go to a reputable company. Verified by trust pilot.. Thank you.

United Kingdom | 25 July 2020Not sure how this companies gets so many good reviews as I have had the opposite. Little to no communication, always having to chase. Although they say they will project manage the whole project, when asked the date the meters are getting installed they said it's nothing to do with them and I will need to chase the company they partner with. Next time I will just go direct to the contractors as I seemed to get better communication with them!

But once I contacted Utility Smart they handled the work with real professionalism. Communication with them was easy by phone or email. They kept me informed as things progressed. They set up the whole plan and everything worked out just as they said and when they said. Chris was brilliant. Now I have a gas installation and it was all so easy. Highly recommend this company.

United Kingdom | 13 December 2019I originally contacted British Gas who was not very helpful at all. I’m opening a business and couldn’t find a supplier to fit a meter who didn’t want to rip me off. British Gas said they will charge me for 170kW of gas for the year regardless of how much I will use. This would have been a cost of over 7000 pound. Which by any standard is bad. I discovered these guys in line and they couldn’t do enough to help. They answered every question clearly and confidently. They found a supplier to install the meter on a time and date suitable for me 2 weeks before Christmas. I’m not getting charged for 170kW of gas for the year now only on what I use. If you get a gent called Karl Edwards looking after you. He will definitely make sure you get what you need. Quickly and for a price that suit. Top service.
