I had blepharoplasty with Dr Tristan Reuser in April 2024. I felt comfortable and trusting of him straight away. The nurses Doctors and reception staff were friendly compassionate and professional with a human touch. The whole process from making a consultation to booking my surgery was quick and any questions prior to my surgery were answered either by telephone or email. I recommend Midland Eye. I had lens replacements in both eyes. Because I had dry eyes I had to attend the clinic a number of times. In this time I saw 4 different optometrists who were always very professional and empathetic. I am extremely impressed with my surgeon, Professor Shar. His professionalism is exceptional. All the other staff, Jen (the liaison officer), surgery and reception staff were also very helpful.

After my Wife was treated for cataract by the NHS, I arrived at the same decision with my NHS consultant at Health Harmonie in Solihull. He referred me to Midland Eye, under the NHS, after several consultations over two years, for a right eye cataract, though both of us knew that the cataract was not very advanced, but at a treatable point. Like most, I suppose I was a bit concerned as my Mum-in-Law actually lost her sight in her right eye after cataract surgery! However, I went ahead positively and had my pre-op examination at Midland Eye about 6 weeks after my NHS Consultant's advice and was delighted by the warm and inviting environment when I was examined by Mr Tristan Reuser, Consultant Ophthalmic Surgeon on 24 March. He was calmly effcient and made me feel very assured about my surgery and said he would be performing the operation, carefully explaining the process. His Nurses and other Staff were very helpful, friendly, warm and informative as well. On 26th April (4 weeks later), I attended for the surgery and again was very pleasantly surprised at how efficiently the induction and medical process went - it made me very confident that I was in excellent hands! The surgery went ahead efficiently and quickly with no pain whatsoever and seemed to be over in no time! I was then wearing a eye cover, through which I could only see a blurred image (normal after surgery) was was discharged speedily after instruction as to how I should manage the eye in the coming weeks. The eye stung slightly after putting the eye drops in (cortosteroid, 4 times a day for three weeks) but that quickly went away and there was only a very slight feeling of mild grittiness and occasional soreness afterwards for a few days. In the following days the eye was much better and vision was returning gradually - and after 4 days, I was seeing clearly with much improved clarity and focus and no pain at all. Now, after a week, I can stop using the eye protector at night but still am aware that rubbing the eye and keeping out water must be avoided, so cleaning around it is a very gentle wipe once across the eyelids and surrounds with a fresh tissue each time. However, this is a minor inconvenience and I shower wearing swim goggles to keep the eye dry keep putting drops in 4 times a day, as well as taking a long walk each day. My vision in that eye is now exceptional and I am amazed at the difference, so much so that I will be arranging to have the left eye done next! The left eye has been shown up and I now notice how cloudy it has been! All in all, I am delighted with the surgery and would recomment it to anyone without hesitation if you have a cataract. My Wife's surgery was done in a NHS Hospital and was also successful but the 'process' for her was lengthy, not very slick, less efficient but still professional. Clearly Midland Eye is a very well managed and efficient business with professionals who know their skills, outsourced by the NHS. I will have no hesitation in going to them again for a second operation - Well done Midland Eye!

Warm and friendly reception, nice waiting areas, lovely staff that did initial scan and tests. Dr Sivaraj was extremely warm and calm, he put our mind at ease, answering our questions clearly and kindly.

I learnt more about eye health and how to look after my eyes in 3 visits to midlands eye than I have done in 50 years dealing with many organisations including the nhs. They are the most professional health organisation I have dealt with. To be highly commended.

I was assisting my Father to attend a procedure at the Clinic. The staff were helpful, thorough and professional. As my Father has to use a wheelchair we used the small lift available. We did need to open the doors, and move furniture to enable us to get to the three consulting rooms used on this visit. It would be a good idea to have a touch button door opening mechanism on each door, and to have the patient remain in one consulting room whilst the staff and equipment can move. The procedure was a resounding success, reasonably priced, and we are very pleased with the outcome. Our thanks to the team.

I had Combined Macular Hole and Cataract surgery on my right eye 26.9.23 carried out by Mr Dong Park. I had an Anaesthetist to do the local and I never felt any of the surgery. I shall be forever grateful and cannot thank or praise Mr Park highly enough for his excellent skills in saving my sight. Shame the follow up appointment wasn’t good where a nurse told me she couldn’t see any change leaving me with the trauma of thinking the surgery hadn’t worked even though I had followed the 5 days facedown posturing to the letter. Thankfully it was confirmed in the next appointment by Mr Park the hole had closed. The left eye combined surgery on 27.11.23 unfortunately wasn’t the same. I didn’t have an anaesthetist do the local this time and I felt the last 5 minutes of the surgery. Apologies to the lovely nurse who stayed with me throughout this surgery, my nails must have left an imprint in her hand. I thought I might have had a follow up call/email after being signed off because there was still a small area that hadn’t healed. I’m under my opticians care now who is monitoring this eye because it also has blurriness and a stigma.

Excellent service. Eye problem quickly identified on first visit and I received a follow up appointment shortly after to undertake the eye procedure. Procedure was successful with significant improvement. Other providers have for many years said nothing could be done. Appointments were efficient with no waiting around.

I have had cataract surgery, istent implants and YAG laser surgery, over the last couple of years. I have complete faith in Mr Ressiniotis and therefore recommend Midland Eye 100%. My vision has gone from below the legal driving standard to now being excellent.

Outstanding and professional throughout, using the very latest equipment. The highly competent and personable staff quickly identified my requirements. Professor Shah conducted the lens replacement procedure on both eyes without fuss. One year later, I still pinch myself to believe in the freedom and clarity of vision and being able to throw away eight pairs of spectacles. This company has changed my life, and I encourage any waverers to be reassured by my experience.

Consultant and staff are very friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. One slight criticism is that on day of review I had phone call saying consultant maybe running late. My appointment was 7pm and I said I would ring to check on timing at 6.45 pm. When I did the telephone had been put on night service and no one to speak to. Living nearby I still attended and was only delayed by 30 minutes but had I lived further away I may not have attended.

What a fantastic place to be. I for one have an affliction to anyone or thing near my eyes. The nurses, the Drs and the Professor that done my first eye surgery were amazing and relaxed me so much. Two weeks down the line and I'm able to see more clear again and looking forward to the second eye to be done. Absolutely faultless care and amazing people

Just wow, what a place! Professor Sunhil Shah and team were amazing. It’s been a while since I had my lenses replaced after 53 years of wearing 6+ prescription glasses. I am now specs free, confident and just like everyone else… had my surgery, because my eyes were a complicated mix of issues, this was followed by laser surgery and a dry eye trial. The results are awesome, Jenna was the best liaison person and every single person you meet here, treats you with respect and understanding. Best place ever, highly recommended.
