I bought a bonsai from this site. Due to my work and with the current virus situation, I can't travel a lot but still wanted to be able to pick a bonsai I really like and that is unique. And I found exactly what I wanted on this site. The staff are very helpful. They put together 2 bonsai's in a pot exactly how I wanted it! I got the bonsai for a good price and with a gift (free feed and bonsai succors). The bonsai got shipped to me to DK and it arrived within 2 days - totally safe. It looks exactly as on the picture. The pepper bonsais are beautiful and are growing nicely in my office. It's getting a lot of admiration from whoever sees it! :) The staff also answer rapidly any questions you have via email on how to take care of it which is really appreciated. Obsessed with Japanese culture and so adding Bonsai to my life was a natural step. I did some research and found these guys on line. I cannot recommend them highly enough. Just taken delivery of my second Bonsai from Bonsai Direct. The packaging and presentation was exemplary, the trees, which are superb quality, arrived promptly and in perfect condition. Wish all companies took this much trouble.Wholeheartedly recommend.

Purchased a 12 year old chinese elm 3 weeks ago, as the tree was perfectly healthy and looked beautiful, I would have not sold this as a beginners tree or even an indoor tree, the pot had no mesh around the holes and under the top layer of soil is nursing clay soil, for nurseries aged trees, i would not class a 12 year old tree as nursery age, in which made the soil very hard to drain, the care instructions does not explain this at all, and for a Beginner would very easily over water it in that condition, when I decided to repot it I was surprised it was all ready root bound and was in urgent need to repot, also it should state that indoor bonsais should only be indoors in a cold room between autumn and early spring, there is no such thing as an indoor bonsai, and more than likely grown in a large green house to be classed as indoors,.. all in all the service is great they are quick to respond to your emails and the tree looks fabulous but needed repotted with more suitable soil mix I just feel the care instructions need to be improved,. Would I buy again,. Yes knowing what I have to do soon as it arrives, As I can not reply to the seller, this tree was root bound and the water would not drain, it was clay under the top layer of soil, And the roots was struggling to breath, i dont doubt your ability to grow and care for bonsai, but many experienced people who care for bonsais would say the same as me, a tree belongs out side, and would need protection from the frost of winter but a lower temperature so it can go dormant, it increases it growth for when spring arrives, Having it constantly growing foliage etc and not knowing what season it is only shortens its life span and is simply torture to have it inside as it will die a slow death, A cold frame green house would be more than enough to keep it protected from the frost of winter, as its been reported that chinese elms can survive up to -10 given the right conditions, 2nd reply I see we are just battling each other with knowledge now, but with my experience and knowledge has came from various experts and enthusiasts, including Peter chan with over 50 years experience, as well as my own learning and caring for bonsais on a smaller scale, Obviously you have proven these trees can survive indoors, all I was saying that the care instructions need to be improved for beginners, as with the selected soil that came with the chinese elm was not draining well and was soaked for 5 days before it finally dried out enough for a repot, you say it doesn't need a mesh because of the soil when you need a mesh to stop the soil being washed away, in this case it was different because it was mixed with clay soil clogging up the drainage holes, a chinese elm is not a evergreen either, it only appears that way when being kept indoors because its confused with the seasons,. Thank you for the battle of knowledge I will still buy another tree from bonsai direct as the trees are beautiful, but will change it to my liking once inspected, Thank you "Also would like to add that I'm not trying to discredit bonsai direct in any way shape or form, I have not put in for a return or refund, Was just trying to post an honest review, I have still even given you guys a 4 star rating"

Having purchased one tree, I was so happy that I purchased another 3 this month. The prices are not over inflated, and usually include both a drip tray and free next day delivery. Bought a Bonsai Tree for my wife Karen's 50th and she loved it that much, she was in tears of joy! She has names it "ZUTTO" and it now gets more attention than me! :-) I find words hard to find to express how pleased i am with my purchase. Arrived on the day i asked for and was so well packed, it took me ten minutes to open it! I also have to say that value for money is an understatement! Thank you for my delivery, which arrived this morning. I bought my first Bonsai (via Bonsai Direct) Oriental Tea Tree 18months ago, and it is thriving, so I thought I would try to train another. For this order I opted for the Chinese Elm, as I am still a beginner. I ordered two as I like the woodland effect you can create with the Elm. You thoughtfully sent me two different type/styles - it is appreciated, and I would like to Thank You ! I also find Lloyd's videos' very helpful, so thank you again, for making them easily available. I purchased the Father's Day Bonsai Tree kit and was super happy with everything. The customer service is great, I had emailed the company requesting a change in delivery date (the Bonsai Tree can be kept in the box for up to 3 days after delivery) as I had ordered the Bonsai way too soon! I had Sarah reply to my email instantly and kindly changed the delivery date for me with no issues. The Bonsai was packaged very well and the fathers day balloon was a lovely addition.
