My experience was not 5 stars Highlights -Had to call Jon two days before the move as he had not confirmed with me all was ok for the move on Sat 10th April -He asked if I could do 1pm move as he had booked another move in the morning said ok -Called at 1pm to check 1pm Ok. Running behind he tells me.. Might be 30 min... The van turned up at 3.45 -One of the movers dropped my wardrobe on its back slammed to the floor in the old house - That guy was busting around my house like a bull in a China shop! -Same guy assembled my wardrobe broke a mirrored door which ripped out the screws and fell on me when I opened it at the new house -Was asked if was from Argos(cheap crap obviously! the problem -Jon apologies and says he will pop back Monday and stick some gorilla glue in the holes and re attach -Monday. 12th .. I ask for compensation for the damage they have caused -Jon tells me it's been reported to his insurance to deal with -Won't be coming to fix it. Way too much hassel... Won't be using them again... Shocking service and incompetent employees Wife's favorite wardrobe... Dead upset.. They couldn't care less.. Maybe you will get lucky.. Best of luck!! Update after Jon's comments Dropped it 1 star after those comments What a lovely response to an unhappy customer So potential future customers this is what I got from that answer :: 1.because I only needed help moving half my furniture @£250 pounds I DIDN'T MATTER 2.Didnt matter enough to get to at the agreed time of 1pm (yes Jon you did tell me a time) who has a move and no time agreed.. No one! 3.No where in that reply does he actually admit to doing anything wrong... I suspect he's never wrong 4. He thinks it is ok to slag off a customers furniture choices (it was from Homebase actually and cost £250) Easy to blame the furniture rather than the poorly trained and in a real hurry to get away chap you let loose on it... 5. He is happy to ridicule my wife for daring to love a wardrobe she picked and paid for And in reply to your comment about me threatening to post a bad review on here if you didn't pay up Now Jon I have the email thread also... What I actually said in response to you telling me your not going to fix it and it's with the insurers was... ME "so walk away it is then.. All talk crap service.. Trust pilot here I come... Like I said moving stressful enough without this guys service and attitude Final post on this Jon my high standards were not nearly so high Turn up on time Be professional and polite Respect our things Looks like Jon's original reply vanished here it is below..... Every once and a while you get a client who sadly we can't do enough to help and 180 plus reviews know how hard we try to please So let's run through his list of upset and try to clear a few things up. Sadly I can't add the proof of emails texts a d recorded calls but I'll happily show them. This was a small removal on a Saturday afternoon. £250 was the total price so you get the picture. We hadn't given a time we said afternoon as its a rental at the weekend a d there wasn't a rush and Phil didn't have much to move. We sent 2 Luton vans and 4 crew as they had finished the jobs previously The wardrobe to get taken apart needed to be put on its back. If you could tell me another way I'd love to hear. It's a cheap £100 wardrobe from Argos, they aren't designed for life or putting up and down repeatedly. Phil you get what you pay for. You mention broke a mirror door. Well that's not true is it! The doors fine. The screws would not hold in the wood. So I wanted to rebond them and create a new seal. I was refused. I then offer to fix refused However I can give Phil £50 so he won't write a review. Naturally we dont give in to blackmail. The silly thing is I would have repaired the wardrobe and it would of been done perfectly. But I don't work with people that threaten or try to blackmail Things he won't say. We took tables apart and rebuilt, took legs off sofa and rebuilt, moved furniture around and went out of our way to make sure his house was a home We have 180 excellent reviews for a reason And really Phil the wardrobe was your wife's favorite was it.. Only saw one not much to choose from You know what they say Jon.. The Customer is always right :-) Sorry to say Jon had the chance to do the decent thing and pay us compensation for damage his company did to our wardrobe last week but true to form no. After texting me to say it's in the hands of his insurance.. Wait no it is not.... He would rather direct me to his terms and conditions... 11.8 in the event of a claim an admin charge of £100 for goods in transit claims must be paid. We will have no liability to reimburse this to you even if your claim is successful Buyer beware future customers.. If he damages your things.. Get your wallet out as its you that will be stumping up 100 quid.. Not him...👍 Tried to remove it again 😂

Second day was removal , for a team of 3 we had they where so polite and professional, nothing was a problem for them. I would recommend A1 removals to anyone. Fantastic company .

They had an organised plan and was very careful with our fragile items. Highly recommended and will use again in the future.

On moving day Jon’s team were fantastic, they worked tirelessly on the day, helping us, advising us with a few small matters and we’re so friendly. Our crew were Irish, Thomas and Leanne and they were a credit to Jon’s company. We had a 4 hour wait between packing up our previous home until we got the key to our new home and not once did they complain and we’re so understanding and patient. I can’t leave a review without mentioning the boss, Jon Meer. He was always so communicative and helpful, providing us with immediate responses, advice and putting our minds at ease about different matters not to mention extremely good value for money. I wouldn’t hesitate to use this company again if we ever needed to and I fully recommend them for your removals, you won’t be disappointed. Massive thanks to Jon and his crew!

For various reasons we had to activate our move at short notice and ask for overnight storage so we could be in Norfolk for the collection and Hampshire for the delivery. Jon Meer took this on board and made everything simple at very reasonable cost. The team arrived at both places exactly when they said they would and worked quickly and without fuss. They were a pleasure to deal with and we would certainly recommend them for stress free removals.

Thanks to the patience of a Saint, Jon not only came to our rescue at the 11th hour for a removal firm on short notice in a large chain, but even after several potential date changes and then the prospect of the top of the chain not being able to secure a firm. Jon and his team managed to come up with a solution to assist and help the chain complete. This firm was faultless, they took great care in transporting our possessions, waited patiently until we finally received the keys at 4.45pm and we’re still helping unload at 8.30pm. All with out a single complaint or unhappy face from the crew who worked tirelessly all day. This firm is truly a god send and cannot come highly recommended enough if you’re looking for a removals firm that puts the customer first. Thank you once again Jon and your team.

A large scale move in every way, and given a long chain, was fraught and required frequent rescheduling. Jon was amazing: calm, collected and responsive. When the actual days of the move arrived, the team were wonderful: professional, caring and conscientious. They worked hard, no slacking, and over two long days, produced a successful move. Jon then followed up with a courtesy email and a visit to collect packaging and an offer of any further help. I'd be hard pushed to come up with a fault or room for improvement. From the first call to the trucks leaving late in the evening it was all a great experience.

United Kingdom | 05 March 2021Jon was very helpful and put us at ease over the stresses of moving house, boxes delivered early and they packed everything up very swiftly and effectively. However as they started moving and unpacking it became clear they wanted to wrap up quick and go home as boxes were dumped in wrong rooms and left untidy. When we then started to move furniture we noticed a number of damaged items, most surface scratches and a level of acceptance that these things happen. However our boys bunk bed was completely trashed and snapped in multiple places. We mentioned this to Jon who apologised and said his insurance would cover it, 4 weeks later and an offer of £40 for a £400 bunk bed was offered. Needless to say we were not impressed, a cover of £40 per item is all they offer! So any valuable items I would not trust them with as they know they won’t have to pay out so just clearly don’t care. Very disappointed and we will be telling people we know who are moving to avoid using A1 Removals. Edit: in response to Jon’s reply the bed was only 18 months old and we obviously had to replace the bed straight away as our 8 and 3 year old couldn’t be expected to sleep on the floor. (We also sent pictures showing the multiple damages to the bed). We also told you at the time that you damaged our £800 oak dining table as someone ripped part of the leg off and tried to glue it back on in our old house, and proceeded to leave a very expensive sideboard on the patio with nothing to protect the bottom (and a wet patio too as it had rained). Whilst furniture can get damaged the items in question were clearly a result of rushing and/or negligence. And we’re still awaiting the ‘pitiful’ payout too... Follow up edit: Thanks Jon for your swift reply. The table leg you were fully aware of as you were there when the team admitted they had damaged it! And we stood and had a brief conversation about how best to try and repair it. So you were aware of at least 2 damaged items and as per our email conversation there was also superficial damage to other furniture that we have only noticed as we started moving other items after our move date. The fact that A1 Removals will only compensate £40 per item for what is classed as standard household furniture (a bunk bed at £380 is pretty standard) is quite frankly ridiculous as we would have to list out dozens and dozens of items that are worth over £40 (which no doubt would see the price rocket up as well).

Jon came round to review, emailed us a quote and on the day of moving the team turned up promptly and professionally. Everything was moved with care and nothing was too much bother or hassle. At the end of the very long day they even asked us if anything needed moving from room to room at our new house. No problems at all, would certainly use this company again and would highly recommend. They took my mother's health into consideration throughout the move. Their packing was very careful but efficient. Nothing was too much effort and they went above and beyond on several occasions. The best removals firm available. Jon's communication is excellent and he is very quick to answer questions throughout the process.

We initially had to put one home furniture into storage because of house falling through and Jon was more than accommodating offering us storage until finding another home. They arrived on time at 8.00 (a 3hr drive to us) they started the process of packing everything initially then taken into storage. In addition they went out of their way to make sure we were comfortable throughout the process. They then came the following day to collect the last few items and did an additional job we asked for.
