I applied to zero gravity to increase my chances to get accepted into Oxford. I was apart of AspireLiverpool who encouraged me to join zero gravity. As being a girl from liverpool, the University of Oxford never seemed possible to me however with the support of my mentor, Leah she boosted my confidence and helped me with my personal statement which was overwhelming to say the least from the lack of guidance i was given at school. We had about 2 calls a month and messaged inbetween, planning a meeting was never stressful we just planned a day that we was both free and how many that i felt i needed. The advice i received of my mentor I was able to share with my friends at school so we all felt confident with our uni applications. My mentor also helped me with mock interviews, the admissions test which led me to actually getting an offer from all my uni choices! Without zero gravity i wouldn’t have had the motivation to complete all of these goals and university would still seem part of my imagination and scary.

I found zero gravity extremely helpful in my application to University. My mentor helped me prepare for my interview, gave me help with my a level subjects and more. I don’t think I would have achieved my university offers without the help of zero gravity.

My experience was great because I received a lot of support from my mentor, which allowed me to secure my university offers and introduce me to a variety of scholarship opportunities.

Honestly, the reason why the Z gravity experience was so great was because I was able to communicate with someone on the same wavelength as me, who understood my struggles and what I went through for the last two years. Though teachers and parents are great mentors, they haven’t been in my shoes within the last 20 years in most cases, therefore, due to the changes in the educational system, wouldn’t fully grasp what’s at stake here and what I have to do. Especially as a Black African, it’s pretty hard meeting people who are in similar circumstances. I give appreciation to Zero gravity for letting me speak with Kushan and though our meet ups were minimalist I was able to gain a lot of lessons from it. Efficiency is efficiency.

My mentor, Harrison, was really amazing. He was sound, kind, helpful, knowledgeable and to be fair I enjoyed spending my time on calls with him. We’d talk about uni, personal things, college and he gave me all the advice I could need. Not only are you getting advice and being mentored, if you do it consistently (once a week or more) you get entered into a 3k scholarship. Thanks Harrison! Zero Gravity has been super helpful

It’s a free platform that helps disadvantaged students prepare for university applications. Honestly such an invaluable resource and is set up in a way that makes it easy to access the support you need

Zero gravity is such a great platform! My mentor has been so helpful throughout the admissions process and enabled me to gain 4/4 offers for medicine which I wouldn’t have been able to do without him. Even beyond getting these offers my mentor has supported me with my A levels going over topics I’ve been struggling on which was so useful!

An extremely well and thoughtfully designed interface, which ensured easy access to the considerable resources on the website. I have never experienced any technical flaws using the site, despite the range and quality of functions which it supports. It has a great deal to assist me academically.

I was struggling on how to showcase my skills in my personal statement. However as soon as i was introduced to Zero Gravity my needs became fulfilled. Not only did my mentor help with my personal statement but i received advice and support with preparing for interviews with both universities and apprenticeships. I was also able to gain advice after my A level exams regarding my CV.

I think it's safe to say that without the help I received from Zero Gravity I never would have received offers from my top choice universities. My mentor was there for every stage of the application process from personal statement to interviews, which made the whole process so much more bearable and less daunting. I am extremely grateful for all of zero gravity's help and I urge anyone who meets the criteria to apply asap- you will not regret it!

Zero Gravity’s mentor scheme has really helped me to apply to and get 4/5 offers from top universities. Also, having a mentor who is a few years ahead of me has been a wonderful experience as he has been able to guide and advise me in how to become a Barrister after my law degree.

What made my experience great was the genuine engagement and interest of my mentor. She met with me frequently even once a week sometimes even more than once a week and provided support. She encouraged me to apply to oxbridge despite my lack of belief and helped me to aim high. Introductory videos helped me to get a better idea of the organisation and what the programme is about.
