Just bought a new caravan and all seems good. Everyone really nice and professional, especially Johnny and Stuart...thanks to you both. Hard to believe half these reviews as our experience has so far been very good. Bought a few bits from the shop and everyone also very good in there. Can't complain about anything at all....yet. But if I have to I have every confidence that they are good people and will help.Respect works both ways.

Shocking and misleading customer service. We chose to purchase in 2022 from the company thinking it would be good to support a local and long-standing business. Our experience has been terrible - both in being misled during the initial sale and then a massive struggle to resolve any warranty or servicing issues. Sad to say I would advise everyone to avoid this company. There are some pleasant members of staff but not enough to outweigh the damage caused and very poor communication and service overall.

Before you take your caravan to Yorkshire Caravans of Bawtry for a repair, read about my experience. In early 2023, I discovered that my caravan had leaked over the winter, and shortly after that, a local independent repairer told me that the leak was due to a cracked front panel, and that I should take it back to the dealer because it was probably covered by the warranty. However Yorkshire Caravans of Bawtry were adamant that it was not their problem, and after several months of discussions, including the involvement of Jon Goulden, the Managing Director at the time, we agreed the repair work to be carried out and on October 4th 2023 I authorised that work. As the months sped by, I called and emailed on several occasions for progress reports, and the response was usually some variation on the theme of "It's just about to go into...". In January, I emailed the current Managing Director, Chris Brown complaining about the time the job was taking and lack of updates. I have no record of a reply from him, but that same day I got an email from the aftersales representative saying "We've done this, we're waiting for that"; but no end date. On February 21st I received an email to say that my caravan was ready for collection (4 months and two weeks after the job was authorised). When we went to collect it, I found three areas where the repair was inadequate, and one where, while carrying out the repair, they had damaged the caravan interior trim. I emailed them explaining why I had rejected their work, and I expected to receive a speedy, apologetic reply and an assurance that the problems would be resolved quickly. Instead it took them 7 days to produce a reply saying that they would fix the problems and they would let me know when this would happen. That was three weeks ago; four weeks from my rejection of the quality of their workmanship; and I've heard nothing further. We are now well into the caravanning season, and I have no idea when I will be able to go caravanning again. Do yourselves a favour, take your caravan somewhere else.

Please avoid at your own benefit We purchased our new caravan and we thought we was dealing with a long standing reputable company We was shocked and disgusted the handover was atrocious and felt as if they just wanted rid of us. We just put that down to a bad day but when it came to having the first service it went from bad to a nightmare There was more problems they caused and no after care in any way not even a call to say anything had been dealt with or even finished You are spoken to and belittled to a point of losing your patience Please avoid and stay well away for your own health

DO NOT BUY ANYTHING FROM THIS COMPANY! They are the worst company we have ever dealt with and will never purchase anything from them again.

Have bought a number of caravans from yorkshire caravans and they have always been able to supply what we have asked for with a good deal. Yes we have had problems with the actual products but this has always been due to the shoddy standards the major British caravan manufactures work to. Any issues we have had have been dealt with promptly and at times above and beyond what could be expected. Its a shame the manufacturers don't have the same attitude to customer service that we have always received from Yorkshire caravans.

After purchasing a caravan from Yorkshire Caravans earlier this year, which came with 6 month warranty, I had it serviced independently for piece of mind within that period. There were items that needed repair (heating element and fog light) so booked into YC for work to be completed. On dropping the caravan off I highlighted some other minor issues which were not warranty jobs. On collection all the work had been completed along with the ‘non warranty’ jobs at no charge. Caravan was spotless and had clearly been looked after. Comms (Ben) through the process was great and would have no issues returning.

I lost count how many times my caravan has been repaired I gave up after 21 times each time with more than one problem sometimes it would be for multiple repairs one lot of repairs had to be done back at Swift putting my caravan off the road for 8 months because the front windows were falling out. I’ve even been in the national newspapers for claiming to have the worst built swift in the country, it got so bad Swift and the dealership at Bawtry tried to do the right thing by sending a mobile technician out to repair the caravan sadly that’s now off the table and I have to start going back to Bawtry to have it repaired costing me in fuel and time ( a 2 hour journey in total each time it goes in). I’ve got a 5 year warranty luckily and the caravan is only 4 years old and constantly being repaired even the repairs need repairing. When Swift returned my caravan to Bawtry there was little communication between themselves and my caravan was lost for 3 days and when they found it, it was in a worse condition than it went in with holes and scratches to the back and internal door needing replacement. The staff at Bawtry try and do the right thing but it’s as if they are not allowed at times and having their rains pulled in, it’s a sad affair. Myself I’m a disabled military veteran who relies on a war pension, we enjoy getting away from the 4 walls of our house that’s why we got a caravan but we had no idea how badly they are built or how we would be treated having purchased one.

Our advice to anyone reading this...do not buy from this company. If you do purchase from them and have problems, do not let them repair under warranty...reject the caravan and ask for your money back straight away. Up to 25 August 2023 we have owned this caravan for 89 days, 64 of those days faults have rendered it unusable for holidays or it has been in the workshop for repairs. Only once have we been away and had no problems. Bought this caravan new on 2 July 2023. 1st trip on 3 July, fridge overheating and cooking rather than cooling, fixed under warranty. 2nd trip out plug to car faulty, staff help fix this but delay to start of holiday, 3rd trip out, major leak from front window, soaking cushions and woodwork, fixed under warranty. 4th trip out, boiler and pump not working, melted fuses and no hot or cold water into the caravan, fixed under warranty. Asked for a refund 4 times and have been ignored. It appears that as they have fixed the faults our case for a refund has diminished...very clever of them. If you want a caravan you can tow somewhere and be confident it is working correctly then do not buy here. Aftersales are condescending (apart from one person who shall remain nameless) and they have little regard for Consumer Rights, let alone customer service. They are happy to take your money but not so happy to give it back even when they have sold you a faulty product. They do not care or even pretend to.

Informed Caravan service would take 7 to 10 days. After 11 days and no contact and despite numerous phone calls and internal emails I visited in person for an update. Informed the delay was due to staff issues - the caravan hadn't been looked at and was 5th on the list to be done and it could be up to 5 more days! The 'Service Reception' were very 'laid back' about this situation! After this there were various attempts to discuss this lack of communication and professionalism but not a great deal of concern shown! Eventually after 3 weeks I was able to collect my caravan. On return to home despite a complimentary 'standard body wash' I noticed the caravan roof was disgusting - 75% dirtier than when I took it in. I followed this up in person and was informed the complimentary 'standard body wash' did not include the roof! I also accidentally found out that the service had been carried out by an 'Agency Technician' but I had not been made aware of this! Despite a 'face to face' meeting my concerns/issues remain unresolved to my satisfaction after two "without prejudice"offers. I did not accept a full valet as my van is in tiptop condition or Valeting and 15% reduction in next years service as I had already informed them by emailed I would not be using YC again. They are by far the most expensive for service in the area and customer satisfaction is zero! I will not be using them again or recommend their 'Service'! Interesting looking respectively at other customer comments! Update! Just spent 4 hours cleaning roof and body work after disgusting state roof was in on return from its adventure at YC. They will be oblivious to my efforts!!

Do you remember this company? We do we have bought caravans and equipment from them for years as we are local. Known for their ‘can we have one Dad?’ Trade catchphrase it was a family oriented company. We visited today looking for an awning but as usual we would have looked at the used vans and ended up buying one, except…. There were no used vans under £16000 (we are pensioners) , the staff were having fun putting all the sun chairs outside across the front of the shop and showrooms so they could take photos. There were no small 2berth caravans other than the swift base camp, the awnings came in at more than £1000 and the aquakem was dearer that anywhere else the staff were too busy playing around to help so we left and purchased exactly what we wanted from the internet at a decent price we could afford. Yorkshire Caravans your lesson for today is the customer is your gold don’t treat them like they are nickel plated , be competitive and attentive or the internet will win every time !!!!!!

Just wasted 2hours of my life and 20 pounds in diesel going to view a caravan theat they didn't even have in stock! The website says they do but I even took the time to email and ask, just to double check-reply received back saying yes it is on site and did I want to book an appointment to view! We arrived this morning..no caravan..they apparently just order them for you if you are prepared to spend 40 thousand pounds without seeing what you are buying. No apology offered, other rude staff interrupting with their queries and no offer of alternatives ...not interested!!!! Won't be buying from there!

Purchased a new Swift caravan and took delivery on 21/10/22. Found out as we were about to leave with the new van that the ATC unit hadn’t been fitted at Swift factory because of supply problems. Would have preferred to be advised before paying for the caravan and would not have purchased it as the ATC unit is a safety device to help stop snaking/Jack knifing. Arrived home to find that one of the stabiliser Jack nuts wasn’t central in the housing and struggled to get the socket to fit. The toilet cassette locker door had one of the catches jammed open and won’t lock. The Alde heating extension tank bubbles and noisy when heating turned on. Several items missing which should have been supplied. I’m not able to register the Alko secure wheel lock because the card is missing with the serial number.Yorkshire caravans have either ignored emails or given me the runaround and I have no idea when the ATC unit will be fitted or when/if they intend repairing the faults….which should have been found when giving the caravan a PDI. I very much regret purchasing the caravan from Yorkshire caravans as they obviously are only interested in taking your money and have no skills at Aftercare or how to treat people

We purchased a brand new Coachman caravan, awning and battery from Yorkshire Caravans At Bawtry. We couldn't tow it and they recommended a delivery service. It arrived on site and immediately there was a problem. They had fitted the battery when the caravan was still hooked up to mains electric and the lights and the water pump weren't working. On this issue they managed to help us over the phone. A few days later we noticed that the water flow was pulsating and the water went from cool to warm during the flow. We followed the instructions in the manual and after getting water flow for 20 seconds the water pump cut out. Again we contacted Yorkshire Caravans who were unable to help over the phone and said we needed to return the caravan which of course we couldn't do. Whilst we appreciate that they don't have the facility to carry out mobile repairs, they were totally unhelpful and told us that we had to find a mobile repairer who was Coachman approved. I sent an email to Yorkshire Caravans saying that we expected them to organise a repair and one week later we have never heard from them - no phone call asking if we are OK or reply to the email. In the meantime we contacted Coachman direct and they came out and repaired our caravan. We wouldn't recommend this dealer at all. It seems they took our money and then washed their hands of us.

Experienced caravaner and decided to purchase a new swift van from Yorkshire caravans as they are local to me. They were faultless on the sales side but once this is done you go from important to something on their shoe. If you need any warranty work doing good luck even after 4 months still no parts ordered blaming COVID-19 for everything even though I go to any parts supplier and buy the parts myself😡. Never have I been spoken to or treated the way that Yorkshire caravans have spoken to me I bought a brand new van and the toilet, fridge and cooker all have issues look at other reviews on the internet and you will see I’m not the only one

I have had almost 4 years of the worst purchase experience in my life. Bought a new Swift Conqueror 645, Over £26,000 and I have never had a trip in it where something hasn't fallen off or stopped working. Many repairs they have done have been terrible and even a couple of weeks ago returned the caravan to me with a new blind fitted that is sloping and doesn't close. The list of problems is very long and I will be publishing it in due course but I would never buy a large value item from this dealer and would never in good conscience advise anyone else to do so. Look elsewhere. Almost 4 years on and the faults have still not all been sorted out. The directors are rude and one even offered to solve the problem by taking the caravan back and giving me £16,000 of my money back but keeping the remaining £10,000. He said they would need to do work on it to be able to sell it so couldn't give me any more than that. One other member of staff said this type of thing is to be expected as it was a cottage industry. My recommendation is to avoid this company at all costs. There are other dealers and they will all want to sell you a caravan, pick a better one. On a positive note, the cafe is pretty good and the cafe staff are lovely.
