An Post Insurance are a money gouging company. If you are an elderly customer with many years of claim free driving, they will load extra charges onto your insurance costs, at will. They do not care one iota for you as a loyal customer, they just see you as an easy target to gouge more money from you.

This is my second year insuring my car with An Post which is unusual for me. Normally, the premium in Year 2 is much higher than Year 1 and I insure elsewhere! Not so with An Post. I got a better quote and policy this year. Everything about the entire process was hassle -free. Simple payment method and I received my documents, including insurance disc, in the mail the next day! Many thanks to Craig Gorman for handling the transaction. An Post are definitely worth checking out when looking for car insurance.

I took out An Post Pet Insurance for my puppy last year. I rang them the other day and I ended up in tears on the phone because I took out pet insurance because I knew I genuinely couldn’t afford to pay for anything upfront. When I rang them and said that the bill could be between €1600-€1800 .. I was told that they only pay after the fact.. I said that if I was claiming car insurance.. ya pay the excess and then the insurance company pays the rest but I was informed that this is not the case with pet insurance. I am on the invalidity pension and I thought by taking out pet insurance would ensure that I was covered. They have there own policy that I have to ensure that my dog is up to date with everything from their vaccines to health checks yet they don’t want it to be the other way around.. I was told that it was in case they had an underlying condition. What does that even mean.. like when ya take on a pet you don’t want it to have any kind of underlying conditions. But also you don’t always know but is this the clause that An post pet insurance company uses to make sure that they don’t have to pay for the treatment. I have applied to my credit union for a loan not knowing if I can get it or if the insurance company will pay me back. So upset that my puppy is not getting the treatment she deserves because of red tape..

The renewal was hassle free. The only complaint I would have is the premium was way too high.
