Excellent company, Simon is an absolute dream and couldn't have been more helpful. I messaged half a dozen surveyors for quotes around my new home and Simon responded the same day with a comprehensive write up of why he was a great choice, even better he took the time before replying to look at the property (on the estate agents website) and told me in detail what he would recommend, which was especially great considering it was a cheaper option than I had asked for as well as going through exactly what the differences were and pricing for everything. I was blown away by this and even more so when he gave me a call to check if there was anything he could make clearer, when I told him how impressed I was he brushed it off but it really made a massive difference. Come the inspection I was again just astounded at the diligence and level of detail he went into, the absolute minutia that he noticed, investigated and then let me know about in easy to understand English (explaining patiently what a soldier course is) and made it simple to follow. He called when he was done on the day and gave me great confidence in my purchase, he also told me a little about the area from what he could see (as a comparison) and had engaged with the vendor as well. It was honestly just so far above anything I could have hoped for. In short, if you need a surveyor, pick this one. If you KNOW anyone who needs a surveyor, get them to pick this one. I'd have no complaints if the service was twice the price it was. Absolute diamond!

After much research we came across Simon's website Searchlight Surveyors. We sent him a message to request a quote for a RICS Homebuyers survey and had a comprehensive, professional reply within 24 hours giving me all the details I needed to assess whether Simon's services were suitable and affordable. His quote was very reasonable and the best of the 3 I obtained. The administration process to instruct his services was easy, efficient and very professional. The survey was booked in within the week of signing the contract and Simon then communicated through the whole process so we knew what was happening and when. We got a brief overview of his survey on the day, so we didn't have to wait for the report to know if we were buying a property with major issues. The report came 24 hours later. It was formatted in a way that was clear and easy to digest. Simon added pictures to illustrate any identified issues. There were a few questions we had on the back of the report and Simon gave us a lot of time to talk us through our concerns and was available even on the weekend. No question was too big or small. This was exactly the type of survey we wanted. It told us what we urgently need to do as soon as possible after we move in and the other things to do but not so vital. Simon was always approachable and was willing to discuss the report at all times.
