United Kingdom | 22 May 2024I wanted to post the complaint I made to Gentle Dental in its entirety, but I'm unable to do so as it's too long so I'll summarise as best I can. I returned from a doctor's appointment a couple of evenings ago (20th May) and I’ve been referred to a neurologist, after seeing a maxillofacial surgeon, following behaviour from "Dr" Avinash "Avi" Sachdev you'd typically associate with a backstreet clinic abroad. In short, "Dr" Avinash was supposed to replace composite for a previous filling I wasn't happy with. Discussions had been going back and forth for some time with the surgery and they were actually quite helpful in trying to resolve my initial complaint. When it came to replacing the filling, I must have turned up on a busy day as I believe Dr Avinash chose to squeeze me in-between "paying" customers (I wasn’t paying for the procedure), blast me with anaesthetic to avoid unnecessary waiting (I was given an initial dose but work on the tooth started almost immediately until I complained), he didn’t care that I complained I couldn’t breath and didn’t feel right after the second dose (initial two injections and second two injections), or that I experienced a hot dizzying flush that went through my head, or that I felt as though my entire jaw had locked up and had what must have been anaesthetic dripping down my throat at some point ( I had to sit up and spit it out). No post-procedure check up or conversation other than “I’ll see you out” when I had hardly sat up. I told him actually I’d rather take my time at which point he said “I’ll leave you with my colleague” - who was a dental assistance who didn’t utter a word. Dr Avinash’s demeanour was rushed and apathetic. To set the timescale and context, Dr Avinash and Gentle Dental believe (given their responses) that a procedure to administer anaesthetic, allow the latter to take effect, remove previous composite, apply and set new composite, test the bite apparently and offer adequate post-procedure advice, takes 20 minutes in all. I went in at 14:50 and was in an Uber home at 15:20-something (prior to that I was recovering in the waiting room and waiting for the Uber). The next “paying” customer was called in almost as soon as I sat down in the waiting room (yet Dr Avinsash claims he set aside additional time for my procedure in case there were issues. If that’s the case why rush through the procedure and rush me out the door)? When I arrived home, rather than the usual numbness dissipating, it instead spread up the right side of my face, ear, temple and the top of the head (this shows how much anaesthetic was applied). My jaw felt like it was locked. I called the surgery as I wasn’t happy and was called back eventually by an irate Dr Avinash with an attitude saying he was doing me a favour by calling me back and if I wasn’t well I should go to A&E. I reminded him he wasn’t doing me a favour and was not going to accept how he handled the procedure. Later that evening and onwards Dr Avinash had another personality switch from apathetic and cavalier, to where he acted like he was very concerned about my symptoms but had no idea where they came from. This is why I call him a Jekyll and Hyde character. He invited me back to the surgery to discuss the issues but this was a disingenuous attempt to talk his way out of what he had done (or perhaps I come across somewhat unassuming and he thought I was stupid). After continuing back and forth I finally had enough of his faux self-preserving concern, and filed an official complaint. As it stands, complaints against Dr. Avinash can only be reviewed by he or his brother (I was informed in writing) so I'm sure there would be a conflict of interest there. Gentle Dental are now hiding behind Mills Reeve (solicitors - look them up on Trust Pilot) and closing ranks. I believe all communication regarding the complaint was actually coming from "Dr" Avinash. I asked for camera footage from the operating room (there were two cameras) and I was told the they only kept footage for 48 hours. I’m currently filing a complaint with the General Dental Council and my solicitors need to wait until all necessary medical tests are carried out. It started with a complaint about how a filling was carried out and I now have shooting pains, burning, tingling, crawling and swollen sensations in the lower part of my face and it doesn’t appear the effects are localised (which is why I’ve been referred to a neurologist). Gentle Dental (Dr Avinash) of course deny my version of events, insist they were great and gave me full attention during the procedure (20 minutes then told you’ll be seen out without even catching your breath after sitting up?). If Gentle Dental respond I'll update this with an edit. We take our health for granted until things like this happen. This was totally avoidable.

United Kingdom | 09 May 2024This was my first time having an implant. The whole process (which started in autumn 2023 and was completed in May 2024) was made seamless by the professional, kind and caring manner in which I was treated. A huge thanks to Dr Mish who started the procedure with a painless tooth extraction - i was really impressed - to getting me to the point where the tooth needed to be made and fitted by Dr Bardia. I was really delighted with the result and I would thoroughly recommend the team at 391 Wickham Road if you need an implant.

United Kingdom | 01 May 2024Dr Avi and his team looked after Nicky and me as usual. They shuffled their lunchtime around to accommodate an emergency visit so we could also both have hygienist appointments. My root canal was mercifully pain free! Everyone was friendly and helpful. Great service. Thanks.

United Kingdom | 30 April 2024Popped it try to get an emergency appointment and was seen straight away by the dentist. He was very thorough with the examination and X-ray and then carefully explained everything to me. He later phoned me at home to ask more questions after again reviewing my X-ray. He is going to refer this to another dentist for their opinion. Gave me antibiotics so that I can enjoy my holiday and booked in to see them after that to review my options.
