The first time I ordered from the.......they screwed it up. The customer support person(Chantelle) is incompetent and lied about what really happened. They tried blaming FedEx but the order never even left their facility. They printed a FedEx label but never even shipped it out. Ttwo weeks later.......still no coppa. Also lied about shipping replacement and details.

no communication AT ALL, tried to call, tried to chat, waiting on my order for 10 days, will stop payment with my bank and never order from them again, I will stick YUMMY

Writing this review because there are so many bad reviews here. My experience has been nothing but spectacular. Great service all around, sure the 10% first order discount doesn't work when you buy multiples with discount, but they were able to apply it offline after I placed the order. Great communication (1 item out of 25 was out of stock and they offered a replacement or wait 5 days for it be replenished, or a refund). Shipped within 1 day. Arrived within 1 day. Very very well packed. We are happy and will certainly order again.

I ordered for the first time and checked whether the site is legit; these days you never know if a site isn't a fraudulent front. The reviews on this site were pretty negative, somewhat outdated but at least indicating the store is legit. I risked it as some of the product sounded interesting and were hard to find elsewhere. I was positively impressed - the order arrived 2 days later (I'm in MA) and everything was wrapped nicely maybe even a little much. Everything as described. I am thinking maybe when these guys started out they didn't get everything quite right but learned from things that didn't go well - I am very pleased and will definitely order from them again! (The Italians make such nice things.)

Gave me a discount code by text I tried to appluy the code it didn;t work I tried to contact the Chat nobody replied Finally someone trplied by text, late saying the code works I tried again to type it in several times exactly as sent and it did Not work

Ordered 3 items described on webpage listing as 8.5 oz jar of Dalmatia cherry spread, whole Castelvetrano olives jar 20.5 oz., green Cerignola olives jar-20.5 oz. The cherry spread is indeed 8.5 oz. net weight of cherry spread. However, both jars of olives are only 12 oz. net weight of olives. If you look closely in the photo you can just see the "12 net weight" printed on the jar, but the advertised listing states 20-.5 oz., and how many of us start out suspicious enough to make sure to compare the jar photo with the seller's description? Deliberately deceptive advertising, no doubt they will say "but the photo shows the net weight" so it isn't illegal. Regardless, an unethical dishonest company. I gave the two points because the items were very well packaged in bubble wrap and all 3 glass jars arrived intact.

I placed an order on July 3, 2023 and finally received it yesterday, July 13, 2023. I ordered flour from France, olives, pasta, a can of ground coffee, two boxes of jackfruit, and balsamic vinegar. The packaging was very poor. Everything arrived dusted with flour. The bags of olives were all placed into one box with no ice pack or insulation of any kind and the packages have "Keep Refrigerated" on them. We are in the Phoenix area and it was over 110 yesterday so you can imagine how HOT everything arrived. Who knows if they are spoiled or not. The boxes of jackfruit were smashed and opened. The coffee can was dented beyond repair. The package was sent on 7/7/2023. So that is six days for a delivery. According to their website refrigerated items would be sent second day. Well, maybe this is the fault of FedEx but it doesn't seem that way. I order from a similar online company that is located in New Jersey and, now I know, I will stick to ordering from that company even though some prices are higher and some items are not available.

Absolutely zero communication from SMI concerning shipping info. I explicitly warned them off using FedEx and strongly encouraged USPS for my order, since I live in a very remote area. They ignored my preference and I only found my purchase three days after they asked me for an opinion on their performance. It was found over a tenth of a mile on the side of a logging road in the Klamath National Forest. It was heat damaged after being suspect to three days of above 90 degree temperatures. SMI promised to make good on their defective product, but they never followed up and have not returned emails, phone calls &tc. Absolutely unprofessional and not worthy of one's trust. Can I possibly give a zero star review? That's what is deserved for my experience.

Expired food for sale

I placed an order 09Dec22.I received part of the order 15Dec22. The packing slip said it was complete. I was missing 6 items, and customer service is horrible. Spoke to virtual chat, said my order was complete, then said it was shipped in 2 parts. I should have received the second one yesterday, No order, FedEx says it is delayed. Do not try to call the phone number, 35 calls, no one answers.

I have had some unfortunate experiences with this online store. I was excited to receive the nduja which is a spicy, spreadable type sausage/salami. I should not need to be cooked but can add a great flavor to sauces, etc. In teeny, tiny print on the package, after a night of bad food poisoning, their nduja has on the package must be cooked to 160. Great. Glad I only ate a little on my homemade Italian bread. I complained and got a refund. Before complaining I received a complimentary large bottle of Brioschi Sodium bicarbonate. Right. Second, I ordered two 3-lb packages of DOP gorgonzola at close to $160. I get an email the next day stating there is only one left, and they refunded that one. But the communication back, and forth, was not clear if they were going to send the other one and when. It was frustrating. I finally received the one 3-lb gorgonzola after 2 weeks. It was delivered opened, watery, smelled horrid, and the foil around the cheese was torn. Once again, I took pictures and got a refund. I will not be ordering from them again.

I ordered several items from them including organic lemon juice. When I finally received the order, the lemon juice had expired on 8/31/2021 — last year! When I alerted cust svc by email they didn’t respond but refunded my money. What reputable business sells expired organic merchandise? I didn’t even receive an apology. They probably thought I wouldn’t notice. I will never order from them again.

I found Supermarket Italy by accident, when searching for some hard to find import items. The service by phone was engaging.. smart.. fun.. and most of all Professional. I would definitely use them again.

I placed a large order, received some items that expired beyond the expiration date. Other items were not as described on the website. I tried calling during their posted hours they posted on the website after 9 AM, switched to another number that did not answer after multiple tries. I tried doing the live chat, their instructions say to click on the bubble at the bottom left-hand corner of the page, after many attempts I found the bubble on the right-hand side of the page. Very unprofessional and poorly managed.

I live in rural GA and shop with this place routinely - always outstanding products, service, notifications, shipping and customer service. Why even try to go out and buy Italian with Supermarket Italy. Amore, amore, amore!

They sent me the wrong order. Fine. I can understand mistakes happen. I contacted them and they said they would send out the correct order. That was over a month ago. They keep saying that it has to get sent out at the beginning of the week and that's the hold up, but that's crap. Also, they have never once apologized. This was not a mistake I made. Just one I got to pay for and not have what I ordered to show for it. These people are horrible at customer service and I wouldn't trust them with your money or your time.

Best prices for amazing ingredients. Shipping is a tiny bit slower than Amazon. But the prices, packing, and quality are far worth it.

Every shipment is packed with care. They carry excellent quality products. No wonder things sell out so quickly! Highly recommended.
