Gorgeous products, all hand-made and eco-friendly. My parcel arrived quickly and was beautifully packaged (no plastic and everything recyclable/ biodegradable). I ordered the trial selection as I haven't used solid shampoo etc before, but it smells delicious and I love that it is entirely natural.

I purchased a selection of bathroom items including a shampoo bar, deodorant, tooth powder, soap flakes and an ordinary soap bar. There was also a moisturiser bar, I found this quite difficult to use. The shampoo bar is lovely and my hair looks and feels fantastic I will continue to use this regularly. The iris root deodorant is great, I work in a hot kitchen for 9 hours a day and it worked very well. It is a white powder so I don’t know how this will work with dark clothing. The tooth powder is a bit unusual to use, but it did make my teeth feel clean and the mint flavour is pleasant. The soap flakes are actually more like gratings, I haven’t used these yet. Over all I am pleased with my purchases and I will be re ordering when my supplies run out. I have shared my thought with friends and family so I hope they take up the cause and try to minimise bathroom plastic as well. I love that the deodorant and I believe the tooth powder as well, can be purchased as refills so that you can re use the plastic container that it comes in.

Je suis Française et je vis en Angleterre, je viens de recevoir ce matin le coffret découverte que j'ai commandé pour une jeune fille qui est anglaise , et qui ne parle pas le français . Le dépliant qui est dans le coffret , comment utiliser les produits est uniquement en français , une version en anglais aurait été apprécié .

Not bad. I use for over 2 years natural products for my body: lemon as a deo, Aleppo soap to wash my hair and body, hand made creams and masks with only the ingredients you can eat. Was really impressed by the ingredients of back to basics and ordered a gift pack to try all of the products. The delivery was quick (5stars for that). I didn’t try tooth powder and washing stripes yet, so may be I would like those ones. that’s why I give 3 stars not 2. I tried their shampoo and it’s okay, however I feel they add too much natron bicarbonate. Olive oil bar is not bad at all, but I find too expensive (Aleppo soap last longer, cost less and does a great job for both body and hair) btw I’m not Syrian, I come from Moldova. Deo doesn’t work at all. I continue using lemon, works more than 24 hours! Moisturizing cream I used few times, gives unpleasant feelings for me. Will continue making by myself. I think, comme Avant should stop sending instructions in French outside France and in general it’s a waste of paper and trees unfriendly. People who order your products do it online, there as well they can find all the necessary info. Would not order again. Would not recommend to a friend.

I bought their tooth powder and love it. No foam might put people off, but I used tooth powder as a child and much prefer it. The shipping was prompt but the product is great, and sustainable, ethically sourced so all the better
