United States | 01 May 2019First experience with any tutor (for my 7th grader)-- he was struggling with a certain concept in algebra and after 2 sessions with John, he scored 110% on his algebra test!

United States | 27 April 2019Soooooo happy I decided to move forward with HeyTutor. I was contemplating on whether I should sign up with them, or another company offering the online tutoring option. In-person tutoring rocks!

United States | 27 April 2019Great tutors! Great service! I would suggest you do not give them to many preferences because it makes it much harder for them to send in a tutor of quality.

United States | 27 April 2019Struggling in my Statistics class thinking... why don't I just drop out. After school, my friend recommended this tutoring company. I gave them a call and they sent a tutor that met me at my house. After 3 months of hard work, I passed. Best company ever!

United States | 26 April 2019Our tutor is excellent. We couldn't ask for a more kind, knowledgeable, prompt and polite person. I am disappointed that HeyTutor added a surcharge onto the sessions because of the topic (Latin) and then called back and added a 2nd surcharge because of distance (we live in an urban, highly populated area and the tutor doesn't have that much distance to travel). So the only reason why I am giving 4 stars is the two rate hikes we received AFTER agreeing to using their service.

United States | 26 April 2019My son is a Sophomore in high school. He has always struggled in math, but this year has been the worst. He is in Geometry. He became ineligible 4 weeks ago. My grandma did some googling (yep, my grandma!) she found HeyTutor. I’m so glad she did! He has raised his Geometry average 5 points in 4 weeks with HeyTutor! He had to be eligible by today, to be able to attend prom with his date next week. I’m so excited to say he reached that goal! We will be using HeyTutor from now until the day he graduates! Thank you, HeyTutor!!

United States | 26 April 2019I paid for a block of time more than a month ago for a tutor for my granddaughter. So far nobody has been in contact. After 3 weeks I asked for a refund. They said their policy is to have 1 last session before issuing. Ok, except THAT is the problem!!!!!! Another two weeks later and still no refund.

United States | 26 April 2019I found heytutor online. I was hesitant with committing to a block of hours, but now very happy I did so. I have 3 different tutors via heytutor and all amazing! Thank you so much for everything.

United States | 25 April 2019My son is actually passing his math class because of HeyTutor! I’m going to use this service at the beginning of my kids school year rather than the middle. Thank you for peace of mind at home.

United States | 25 April 2019My tutor is over the top fabulous. Since we only speak Polish, if I forget a word, she writes it down and we review it. She has been more than wonderful. I feel this was more than a good fit. Thank you. Chris (Krysia) LaLena

United States | 24 April 2019Awesome service. Used Heytutor for my Calc 2 class. Highly recommend and would definitely use them again. I suggest going with a larger plan to save on costs. The hours can be used for any subject.

United States | 04 April 2019I'm still trying to find a tutor. Their website says you can browse from thousands of tutors and as you are filling out the info you can see a background image that looks like someone is searching and is able to see a list of results, but you cannot. Extremely misleading and bad practice. They continue to reply with the same email and continue to ask me if I am interested and I continue to respond what do we do now, I need choices, etc. It's truly a joke

United States | 03 April 2019AWFUL - they promised a tutor, gladly take my money, and never found me one. after 5 weeks finally gave me the phone number of someone who probably doesn't exist - i wouldn't know, since he never answered my text or voicemails. Prior to that, every phone call I had with them was "we're just finalizing details!" or "I found someone but she backed out last minute" or "We're talking to a few different tutors right now and we're just making sure they understand expectations, etc..." I got nothing for a little while, called to request a refund and got put with the billing department - that's when things took a bad turn. They told me they cannot do a refund because their policy is that I have to have 2 tutor sessions for a refund. How is that suppose to happen if they can't find me a tutor? Liars and pushy sales people - and don't bank on their "refund guarantee". that's what sold me, and that's where I went wrong.

United States | 14 March 2019I was looking for an advanced accounting tutor. They said they had a few, but would have to interview them to find the best match. This process of finding them and for them to contact me with the tutor took a couple weeks. Long story short, the first tutor didn’t know the consolidation process and the second tutor they found never contacted me. Also, they were charging $80/hr for 10 hrs. The rate goes down, the more hours of tutoring that is purchased. That is not the worst part. The worst part was trying to get a refund. I had to call each day for over week to get a hold of someone that could actually approve and process the refund. It sure felt I was getting jerked around for over two weeks, as they were trying to probably avoid giving me a refund.

United States | 09 March 2019We specifically asked for an in person tutor for a specific subject prior to paying. Patrick promised that he had one and had a 'money back guarantee' so we paid them. After that HeyTutor disappeared. No response after days and days of calling. When we finally did reach them they wouldn't let us screen the tutor, claimed that we had to commit to this unknown tutor and the tutor was online - not even in person as promised! Then once we ask for the refund they give us the run around. The charge is being disputed and I advise you to stay away from the shady business practices of HeyTutor.

United States | 14 February 2019HeyTutor promised a 100% satisfaction guarantee when I first spoke to them, but continue to make excuses for not processing my refund. The vigor with which this company lies, twists its words and throws up smoke/stink bombs to try to distort reality is really astounding. The Director of Sales got me to commit thousands of dollars more than I initially proposed, by saying he needed it in order to find the best tutors, and promising that it was fully refundable if the student was not satisfied for *any reason* after the initial tutoring. It did not work out, but when I requested a refund, I immediately started getting the runaround. At one point, HeyTutor's Operations Director *explicitly* told me she needed me to first say there was nothing wrong with their tutors. I tried to comply by saying that the tutors simply "weren't a good fit." I also offered to pay for the initial 2 hours of tutoring as a compromise. I continued to get the runaround. My guess is they would try to get me to say there was nothing wrong with the tutors, then later claim this as grounds for refusing a refund. In fact, we could not work with the first tutor because we couldn't find a mutually agreeable time slot. The second came on the wrong day and time, and then seemed bored and uninterested during the session. Finally, since it was so far past the "less than a week" that HeyTutor had promised it would take to find the first tutor, we had already hired other excellent tutors and no longer needed their services. There is a similar complaint against HeyTutor with the Better Business Bureau in October 2018 -- it describes a mother who needed SAT tutoring for her child. She had to dispute the charge with her credit card company, which apparently investigated and cancelled HeyTutor's charge. This mom said she did not believe HeyTutor would have processed the refund on their own. Filing a dispute with the credit card company seems like the best option at this point. To those who may be in the same situation, you have 60 days after the credit card statement that lists the charge. Even beyond that, the credit company may try to help you out. Good luck...

United States | 03 February 2019Got an excellent economics teacher from hey tutor near me. Very prompt service and excellent set of teachers all attributable to this site. Thank you so much for such a strong platform for the students and teachers around the country. Just thinking of the concept is not important but effective execution is mandatory for success and this site has done the same to perfection.

United States | 03 February 2019I got a very nice teacher to help me score well in my competitive exams. He walked on my thinking and application skills and later on with my speed. My performance gradually improved and I was then able to clear my competitive exams with flying colours. Heartiest thanks to Hey tutor for the same.

United States | 02 February 2019I was in need of a consistent and dedicated maths teacher for my son. In spite of trying a number of them I was never satisfied. Thankfully Heytutor provided good math teacher who was not only consistent but very dedicated and hardworking. My son used to hate maths as he was never been able to get a grasp over the subject. The teacher sourced from hey tutor was trustworthy efficient and effective with his work. Now I am very happy with the performance of my son in the subject and his overall concepts thereto.
