We found an old vhs from the 90s , we had no idea what was on there , other than it was a family party , I paid to get the old vhs enhanced and repaired and the results were priceless, many of our relatives who were no longer with us , some gone a long time ago and some who had passed recently but fantastic memories shared to all the family

A straightforward simple process of recovering our old memories from our 8mm cine films. The ordering process was easy. Communications were good, especially if I'd remembered to check my spam folder!

The process was very simple to send my videos. They were returned with the USB stick. It was so lovely watching my daughter when she was a teenager (now touching 40 and living in Australia). Seeing my late husband again, was so moving. Thank you MediaFix you did a great job.

The whole experience with Mediafix was easy and straightforward. The staff were helpful.

BEWARE! 1) This company is NOT a UK company (not a .co.uk), it operates in Germany, with accompanying postal problems. 2) The prices quoted on their website for transcribing tapes, although similar to UK companies do NOT say they apply PER TRACK, not per tape. 3. So I sent my critically important tapes to them, agreeing to pay for fast track service (one week?). But have not yet got them back, for over 3 WEEKS, with no response to my emails! 4. Why? Because I complained when they charged my TWICE the fee that I expected - and I sent them a screenprint of their website charges. 5. There is NO bill agreed in advance, they charge just what they want! 6. They require pre-payment by bank transfer, before returning the goods, presumably to avoid complaints via credit cards. 7. The recordings were needed for a major family event and were not available for it. Terrible. 8. They said they wanted to know immediately if there were any problems, so I told them. Now just a very long silence from them. 9. NOT a company to TRUST with your valuables! Update edit 25 October 2024 after Mediafix response. At least their response is honest about their faults and is an attempt to build trust, but this is greatly offset by the fact that a) I did not receive the expedited service contracted, which screwed up many things for me, without any offer of compensation, and b) I have still not been informed by them of dispatch of my tapes with their output, and so have not yet received them (despite payment) and therefore cannot comment on the quality as they suggest!

Job well done

In the end the product was good but it took longer to get it than estimated. We did not receive an email acknowleging their receipt of the film as we were told we would. We did not know the final price of the product until the work was done after we received the invoice but there are prices on their website so we could estimate the eventual charge. I believe Mediafix has only recently started offering their services in the UK so their communications and product delivery may improve as teething problems are ironed out. .

Overall very pleased with the service, I had a video converted to USB stick. Had to check the price as only one tape required converting. Prompt response from customer services team regarding query. The process took quite a long time but warned about that and did not need to pay the extra for speedy service. Both video and USB received and I am very pleased with the result

It took a long time for them to acknowledge receipt of my films and I worried that they were lost in the post. When I eventually received the acknowledgement the whole thing went very smoothly and the results were excellent.

The whole journey was simple and easy apart from when it came to the payment. Unfortunately this coincided when USA had a company fail which knocked out microsoft which in turn affected my computer and bank payments. Once this problem was fixed everything was back on track and runniqng smoothly. Not Mediafix's fault.

Didn’t put the finished items in the order I’d requested, also no mention of the long distance head quarters in Germany

I received my DVD's thank you. Just one suggestion. Confirmation of receipt of my tapes would have been really helpful. I emailed to ask if they had been received quoting your reference number but the email I received back did not contain confirmation of their receipt even though I had waited a coup!e of weeks before contacting you. I had to email again a couple of weeks later before someone kindly confirmed receipt. I think it would be appreciated by customers if when their tapes etc are registered in your system using your reference number, that an automatic non-reply email, confirmation of receipt would be generated & sent to their email address. My grandchildren have had such fun being able to see their Mum in her school plays. So many thanks for your help with the conversion to disc. Great success.

The ease of having an old reel to reel tape transferred to USB and CD, value for money was excellent.
