Everything worked as expected with no glitches. Feedback was very responsive when required. I was surprised and pleased by the depth of resource and particularly that I could do the exam on a Sunday. The course covers a lot of material and gets you thinking. Realised as I progressed through tge course that it was well structured and did a treat job of building on levels of knowledge. Whilst the time suggested for the course is 40 hours. I think it took me more than 60. But, I did take my time.

Doing an online, at home course, may not suit everybody. I would probably benefit from being in a classroom tbh. However, I can't fault the course they have provided. I think it's given me a thorough understanding of the basics of coastal navigation and I feel it does go well above the minimum needed to pass the exam. Thank you.

I took Day Skipper and Coastal/Yachtmaster theory training with Navathome. Both the trainings were really good. Some content is similar in both the training, but topics in the Coastal/Yachtmaster course are more advance. I found Coastal/Yachtmaster exam to be quite tough, which I liked actually :)

An excellent way to up your knowledge and an easy to follow syllabus but allow for about 50 hours of study

RYA like most schools remains obsessed about paper charts and calculations by hand. I guess there are merits in this, though I know very few sailors who still navigate entirely in this way. In this context, be prepared to spend a lot of time fixing coordinates on a paper chart and doing countless interpolations by hand. Navathome's online approach for training is of course very flexible but it can become very tricky and time consuming to figure out where your mistake is coming from, if you don't get it right the first time. Their software works well in general, though there have been occasions where a "wrong answer" was in reality "within tolerance", and a few others just the opposite. The staff was very helpful during the training period and during the exam, where they need to make sure you understand everything important more than presenting perfect answers. So don't be stressed when the exam time arrives! It took me a couple of months to work out the entire course.

finished day skipper course. i think it is one of best places to learn it. all material arrived by mail. I did it on my own pace. instructors were always there to help.

I really enjoyed the course although it took me a lot longer than I thought. I was able to understand everything as the material is well set out and clearly explained using helpful animations. The training material is thorough and having three attempts to get it right is great as making mistakes is where all the learning occurs. I hadn't realised that once the course was finished I'd have to sit an assessment so that was a bit daunting but the process was amazingly well supported with immediate feedback when ever I was unsure. My invigilator Georgina was very encouraging and made the whole day pain-free. And I passed!

I signed up on sailing instructors recommendation This course allowed me make best use of study time when I had free time. I liked the focused sections and review questions. Would highly recommend
