Ireland | 27 December 2024I ordered a limited edition starfeild Xbox remote for my fiancée for his birthday in Dec. It worked for an hour and then wouldn't work. As it was 3 weeks to Xmas and limited availability I emailed cex to see what could be done and they best advised me to return it to my nearest shop to have it checked out. The guys couldn't have been nicer. The remote was faulty and they issued me a refund straight away. As it was a limited edition I wanted to see if I could get a replacement and they told me quickest way was to reorder it on their website as there were only 3 left in Ireland. So I did just that as I was leaving. I reordered the remote and got it the next day it was perfect! Shout out to the CEX in the Crescent they are brill! My fiancée was delighted.

The only resolution offered was a refund which did not meet the situation since the item was bought as a Christmas present and not effort was made to meet this situation. I would not deal with this company ever again.

Ireland | 27 December 2024So I ordered an official steamdeck dock and received a generic one worth a fraction the value. No big deal except this is the third order in a row from CEX online which had delivered the wrong item. Prior to this I ordered a steamdeck oled and received a less powerful model. Prior to this i ordered a nintendo switch game and the wrong cartridge was in the games box. As regards the steam deck items I bought either the staff packing the items don't understand the inventory and need better training or someones trying to pull a fast one and is sending cheaper versions of ordered products and pocketing the difference. While I'm lucky that I know what I'm buying a less informed grandparent etc... could be paying a premium for items which are not what they actually ordered and be none the wiser. I'm done with CEX. Can't trust that I'll receive what I ordered.

Ireland | 27 December 2024Twice I placed orders for laptops and twice they were cancelled- days after the orders were placed- and in one case where the item itself remained listed for sale. So just cancelled 'because the staff at the store couldn't find it' is the excuse given to me for the first. The second was that the laptop wasn't in saleable condition- an unsustainable business practice if ever there was one. Customer complaints service is reasonable- depending on who you get.
