Bill Lyle is an excellent tutor for Japanese. Bill is a JLPT 2, which makes him highly qualified to tutor. The JLPT 2 is proof of his competence. In Japan this designation is recognized by colleges and employers alike for a high level of Japanese fluency: reading, writing, listening, and speaking. He uses this knowledge to tutor well and does so very professionally. An all-around great guy, he is kind and courteous to students and wants to be sure they get what they want out of tutoring. Meeting and getting to know Bill made my life better.

we did not have a good experience. The price was not what we agree to, because that was the tutor salary, instead of the price for the lesson. Tutor was very slow, just trying to make money, more than to listen to my child and have some results. I will not recommend this service.

my experience at Wyzant was amazing! I had Ms. Lynette as my AP statistics tutor and she was great at teaching. She helped me understand the concepts I was struggling with and was very patient and kind while doing so. She helped my grade go up, ending with an A in AP statistics my second semester. Would recommend this platform and tutor to anyone!

While the instructor we have worked with is amazing and top notch, the company as a whole lacks ethical business practices. We have been a customer of Wyzant starting with my son and then 6months later adding my daughter both for a second language. Over the year I have seen one main theme, a constant pulse to get paid. I get it, and fully understand this as Wyzant takes their cut and then pays the instructor. The problem I have is that in 1 weeks time, i got a total of 3 reminders with the 3rd stating they will go to collections next. Seriously?? WTH? I actually paid my balance up to date the week prior, and just had a timing issue with the account used for these lessons, and when i move the money from my paycheck. To get a collections email in less than 1 weeks time, is pretty disappointing. What I see is that while the instructors are excellent, the overall policies of how they go about billing is unprofessional.

Wyzant is an excellent service. It’s a tremendous platform for students, like myself, to engage with professionals in their field. The Wyzant platform enables students to gain valuable knowledge from experienced individuals who in turn pass their knowledge along to the student. Of the tutors I have had through Wyzant, both have been very eager and willing to engage the student in a deeply meaningful way.

Wyzant is a robust platform for one on one teaching. It does not have the capacity to teach more than one learner in a different location, however. That would be nice!
