United Kingdom | 03 October 2021I had visited the Leicester branch on 27th Aug 2021. I had paid my shopping at 17:02. I noticed in the receipt that I was charged £5.00 each for M&S lightly dusted plaice, I went to the customer service (helpdesk) and told the staff that the price ticket stated lightly dusted plaice at £3.50 each ( I checked the product against the description on the price ticket, before I picked up the product). The staff took the box of plaice from me and told me that she was going to check, it took her a long while to check, when she came back she has 2 price tickets in her hand one with £5.00 lightly dusted plaice and the other which stated £3.50 cod… none of the 2 price tickets was displayed earlier apart from £3.50 lightly dusted plaice which the ticket has disappeared! They obviously changed the price tickets! They were so dishonest! I wonder how these people go to sleep at night! She couldn’t look me straight in the eye…she just kept on looking at the price tickets! You know who you are and I still believe in the saying “what goes around, comes around”! It was quite frustrating how I was treated… it was not about the money, it’s about the principle and honesty!

United Kingdom | 17 September 2021Stopped going to store 2 yrs ago at Wentworth. Staff were very rude if u asked them a question. Visibly looked like they hated their job and didn't want to be there. The prices have continued to rise. Aldi and lidl are cheaper and food in date. When it opened it was for all the emergency services only , a small thankyou for our work. Anyone can join now that shows how desperate they are as people have stopped going there because the food is the same price at the local supermarket. Greed has taken over .

United Kingdom | 12 July 2021Went to the St Helens branch this morning many items not priced. One thing that was priced was the bananas that were on today's date and had a big sign saying "7 bananas 25p" but was charged £1. Expect to be ripped off and scammed if you go to this store

United Kingdom | 24 June 2021Leicester branch Supermarket setting, Super bargain deals, most of the fresh food (meals, meats, fruits, veg, desserts....) with short dates but some with decent dates, they also do dry / tinned food, frozen food, a little clothing, garden stuffs, pet stuffs, household stuffs, drinks, sweets, with a lot cheaper prices. Forgot to mention lots of vegan products. Food is from different supermarkets (M&S, Waitrose, Morrison’s, Aldi, Coop.....) and you buy what’s available & will not get the same stuffs every time you go. Staff is lovely & helpful. Place is clean. Plenty free parking spaces.

United Kingdom | 30 May 2021I have been using the company shop for the past few months and although the prices are good the staff are so rude! Went in today and said excuse to a member of staff twice who continued doing what they were doing.. I then reached to the side ( over two meters away) to try and and reach something and the shop assistant span ran and shouted in a really aggressive voice “you will keep your two meters distance” totally embarrassed me and no worries I will keep my two meters distance as I will never shop here again. If you hate your job that much leave and also please actually know what 2 meters is before you start piping up. Even if the food is cheap I’d rather pay 3 times more for better a experience.

United Kingdom | 03 April 2021Always finding great bargains in the Dudley store. Loving the m&s and Waitrose products. Always busy but if you go at the right time it's all good

United Kingdom | 13 March 2021Social distancing was nil. Let far too many people in at a time. Half the people there looked like they were on benefits. Will not go again as not really many bargains.

United Kingdom | 08 February 2021Was good untill they started handing out memberships to every Tom, Dick and Harry including to people on benefits even though for years it was a scheme for workers at company's that were in the scheme as well as certain keyworkers. So because of this it's always rammed and by the time you get there after work there's not much left on the shelf because lots of people on benefits either have a membership or special coupons to use there, so have all the time in the world to shop there, hence nothing left when you do have time to go

United Kingdom | 06 February 2021I have been a member for 10+ years and use a couple of stores, initially the stores were great with regular real bargains, at this point membership was restricted, happy days but they didn't last. Along came the pandemic, the membership was then opened up to all and sundry, the stores became crowded, the customers ruder and the prices went up. The prices fluctuate and you can pay far more one day what you pay the next, it is vital you know your prices as you will end up paying more here than elsewhere if you are not careful. Many of the products are not cheap and plenty of them are considerably more expensive than some supermarkets, avoid the fruit and veg if not using immediately as it rots very quickly. Always check the receipts, it is getting better however mistakes are very common, my biggest overcharge was £50 for a block of cheese once. Meat products, the butchery is generally awful, always check for bone fragments, most is OK slow cooked but in general the quality isn't the best. The best buys if you can find them are the expiry date products from M&S and Waitrose, they rarely last long and there are no set times for putting them out, it is a fishing expedition every time you go so personally I wouldn't go far out of my way as it generally isn't worth it.

United Kingdom | 05 February 2021Social discrimination in 2021, yet they state they will accept those on means tested benefit, yet fail to send any memberships out? So those on minimum wage are not eligible to shop here, only those on high wages. And opening another store in a poverty stricken area of Darlington? Talk about upsetting the locals!

United Kingdom | 09 January 2021I went here today for the first and last time. I did expect things to have a short date on them but things such as salad already discoloured is not my idea of a bargain. Cheese today’s date microwave meals today’s date and many more. Back to Aldi for me

United Kingdom | 22 November 2020Had an interview at one of the stores. Manager left me alone for over 2 hours, then told me I would not be suitable for the company, after looking at my experience. Staff were quite rude to me before my interview and manager was rude during. Relieved to have dodged a bullet.

United Kingdom | 13 November 2020Awful awful staff, rude, miserable people. They have no respect and no manners... I was humiliated in store in front of others with an terrible member of staff screeching at me across the store. Avoid at all costs.

United Kingdom | 15 October 2020Like many other reviews used to be really really good. Dont know whats happened eithe to many people allowed in or not enough stock. Last 2 visits to the Rochdale one haven't even bought 1 thing . Absolutely nothing fresh and the tinned stuff as others have said is cheaper in aldi . Hopwfully they sort it but current offering isn't worth the effort

United Kingdom | 22 August 2020The first couple of times that I went there I found a small number of good deals since then many of the prices are higher than I can find in the likes of Tesco many items have no price shown and prices seem to jump around also you can only find a fraction of what you need requiring a second shop overall complete waste of time

United Kingdom | 12 June 2020I have been using the Company Shops personal shopping service and can not fault it. Every week we send a shopping list, we receive a call back to run through our list and arrange a delivery day. On the day we receive a call to confirm if anything will be missing and when the shopping will arrive. So far our orders have been met and not many things missing. The staff are fantastic, particularly Alex who even noticed I had forgotten to order sandwiches which I order each week for some vulnerable relatives. The delivery driver is very friendly and efficient. I will be carrying on using this excellent service

United Kingdom | 08 June 2020I have been using Company shop for the past six months but unfortunately today may well be my last. The shelves were almost devoid of fresh food, Meat, Chicken, Cheese, Butter etc etc. I had a wasted journey. One thing has stood out however, namely the prices. When I first used The Company Shop there was a very good range of fresh and frozen food at really cheap prices. Admittedly many products had a very short shelf life but they were good value for money. What has now become apparent however is that many fresh food items, ( When they have them ),are no cheaper than Lidl / Aldi or my local Iceland. What seemed a good idea six months ago is now just a waste of my time. I can get everything I require at Lidl etc with long shelf times for the same or less price. The Company shop has lost the plot. UPDATE 10/11/2020. I received an email a couple of days ago offering a £15 voucher when you spend £40 or more. Having not visited for several months I thought I would see if it had improved, sadly not. There was no fresh meat / Cheese/Butter, very few ( Expensive )ready meals and half of the shelves were empty. What little there was was mostly no cheaper than Lidl or Aldi. A complete waste of time and petrol. Even the car park was half empty. Won't be repeating the exercise. Sticking with Lidl/Aldi & Iceland. 9th March 2021.Update. Tried them again as I was passing by. Hardly any Customers in store and lots of empty shelves. Couldn't find anything worth buying. Definitely won't be repeating the experience.

United Kingdom | 15 January 2019DO NOT BE FOOLED by cheap food ! The ownership and senior management at this company has become absolutely shocking over the past 1-2 years, may be they don't care anymore and are thinking of selling, as the owners have become very greedy. Instances of unfairness, favouritism, bullying by shop floor and senior management, audits being doctored etc this is the worst place for work and the Management are a joke, who seem to make it up as they go along. If your face doesn't fit you'll be out. They seem to think they are doing the community and shoppers a favour by buying in for 5p and selling it for 50p, they are raking in millions.
