Shipsurance Insurance Services, an Assurant Company, is a shipping insurance provider. We provide coverage for shipments sent via the major shipping carriers at a greatly reduced rate; often more than 90% off of the carrier rates. Think of us more as a business partner than a shipping insurance vendor. We work with you as your claims management department. We have been insuring businesses for over 10 years and underwritten by Voyager Indemnity Insurance Company. Voyager is 'A' rated by A.M. Best."

Shipsurance is the most honorable and trustworthy company I've had the pleasure of being a part of. I have very few claims...but when I do, I know Shipsurance will process the claim quickly and without any games. I have had the opposite experience with USPS... they are so bad, I have begun insuring with Shipsurance even when a USPS package has insurance included. I'd give Shipsurance 10 stars if I could!

Had a really bad experience with Shipsurance with a recent claim. The impression that I get is that they will try very hard to not honor a claim based on one of the many loopholes that they have. They advertise themselves as full-coverage insurance for your shipping needs, however, their coverage is very limited, and the fine print is extremely exclusive. They went as far as suggesting UPS damages packages on purpose. I'm extremely disappointed and hope this helps someone down the line avoid the same predicament. EDIT: Their response is just for show, I've been dealing with their claims department, they've denied the claim and the appeal.

They attempt in any way to not pay out to you. Horrible company. Would not recommend using them in any way shape or form.

Uses loopholes to avoid paying out. In my situation, the item was returned by the buyer because the ebay return window was closing. Because the buyer returned the goods before the claim was closed they refused to cover it. Id recommend choosing a different insurance provider.

Be aware that if you have branded boxes or tape, Shipsurance will pay no claims for loss OR damage. It's quite the convenient loophole for them, since almost all legitimate businesses of any size use branded packaging nowadays. USPS damaged a big international shipment, and Shipsurance wouldn't pay because we had sealed the box with tape that had the company name on it. In response to Shipsurance: To be fair, they did pay several claims in the past. But then they asked for photos of our external packaging, and that stopped. So my choice now is whether to continue to use branded packaging—which is roundly deemed necessary for consumer goods and companies building a brand—or change our packaging in hopes of having insurance that I paid for actually pay claims.

I have never had a problem with shipsurance. We mail about 400 packages a month (which I always insure and have tracking on). EVERY claim I have filed was taken care of within 2 weeks time, or shorter. The claims were paid without a hassle.

These morons require your receiver to fill out some form to "validate loss" even though UPS has validated the loss officially via claim. They ask your customer things like, "desired resolution". I'm the shipper, and this is solely my choice and interaction, NOT THE BUYER. I paid Shippo/UPS to deliver a product to the end user, they SHOULD NOT have to "validate loss". Stupid and will never use again.

This was a complex loss and the lady processing it was available to discuss the paperwork and evidence that was needed. Payout was quick once all paperwork was in place

Processed my claim through Etsy for a misdelivered USPS package. I provided the required documentation, as did the buyer. It was easy and the refund was sent quicker than I expected.

I appreciate the relatively low cost of Shipsurance and that it is available for international shipments. However, I really dislike having to ask my customers, who have already been disappointed by a lost or damaged package, to follow a link and fill out a form so that I can be reimbursed. I feel that they shouldn't have to be responsible for this, and as the seller I should be able to file the claim on my own and be reimbursed regardless of the willingness of my customers to help out. It's especially difficult with international packages, which are the most often lost in transit, because many of my international customers don't speak English well and may be confused by the insurance process and forms. I would say only roughly half of the claims I start are completed, because customers ignore my request to verify the loss/damage (and I replace or refund their order regardless), so I lose out on quite a bit of money in spite of purchasing Shipsurance. I don't blame my customers, I feel the process is an unnecessary burden and should be simplified.

Shipsurance is the best insurance company we have ever worked with. The claim process in Shipsurance is very simple, easy, and quick, and - at least in our case - 10 out of 10 times, we have received a100% refund for the cases in which our goods were stolen, damaged, or lost while in transit to our customers. It gives a lot of peace of mind knowing that no matter what might happen while our goods are in transit, Shipsurance has our back.

This past year has been rough for shipping as we all know. I cannot say enough about the ease of Shipsurance from beginning to end. The Customer Service is beyond any expectation. I feel completely protected and supported as a business. I feel confident when I tell my customers I have their back because I KNOW Shipsurance has mine.
