Welcome to the Federation of Private Residents’ Associations √ Do you manage or want to manage your block/estate? √ Do you want to buy the freehold of your block/estate? √ Do you want to change the managing agent? √ Are you having problems with service charges? √ Are major works a headache for you? √ Are there any other issues you need help with? FPRA CAN HELP. WE WILL ANSWER YOUR QUESTIONS AND HELP SOLVE YOUR PROBLEMS The Federation of Private Residents’ Associations are a not-for-profit lease advice, support and lobbying organisation for private residential leaseholders, tenants’ and residents’ associations, Residential Management Companies and Flat Management Companies. We are the national voice of residents’ associations and are frequently consulted by government. Our leasehold advisory services are free to members, who pay an annual subscription fee. The Federation of Private Residents’ Associations (FPRA) is an independent organisation. It does not endorse or recommend any products, service providers or companies. The FPRA is able to offer its members specialist legal, insurance, management and building guidance. We represent and understand the interests of leaseholders seeking to set up a tenants’ association, existing tenants associations (recognised or not) and resident management companies. We publish a quarterly newsletter for members, as well as information guides and booklets, and keep members informed about current issues and events affecting leaseholders.

We had a question about our lease and payments for major projects. The FPRA gave a clear interpretation of the relevant lease clauses and we are now in a much better position to go forward.

The reception team are great - very responsive. The advice we have received from the advisors is all very well researched and relevant. I am really pleased our leaseholders' association joined the FPRA and I would recommend other leaseholder/tenant associations to do so too.

We have been a member for a number of years, and rarely have to utilise the service, but when we do a prompt, concise and articulate response is given. Would recommend all Residents associations have them as an aid.

I put in a fairly complicated query on behalf of our management committee and got an 8 page reply summarising the legal position, including some things I hadn't thought about

They always give excellant advise to our Residents Association for use in our struggles with our Landlord. If a legal point comes up, everyone immediately looks at me says 'ask the FPRA they will know.'

Our right to manage company has a difficult situation with our freeholder regarding further development of our block of flats. FPRA responded very promptly and fully to a complex query that we submitted, confirming our understanding and giving some helpful advice.

This is a company that is trying to prevent leasehold reforms rom being carried out by the government. Leasehold properties are affecting millions of people who bought their property. Leaseholders are being exploited with escalating ground rent with some doubling every 10 years leaving homeowners unable to sell their property. Ground rent does not provide any services but instead is a revenue for landlords which this company wants to support. Uk is the only country that has leashild system.buyi g a property should mean you own it outright instead we have landlords making money out of people's home or charge you to make any changes within the property. This company has no morals or integrity . Leasehold reform will happen and this company needs to stop trying to prevent it from going ahead. There is no misinformation in my review. It's public knowledge that this company represents the rights of landlords and is against the banning of leasehold

We've found FPRA's advice and guidance invaluable. We have a freeholder who really doesn't follow the rules. As FPRA members, we can access expert, easy to follow legal advice, sometimes just to explore different possible options with people who know more than us, without risking running up large legal bills, and that gives us huge peace of mind.

The problem I raised was a safety issue well beyond my experience and its importance and urgency made an urgent answer and action pressing. The advice received from a safety expert was fast, clear, concise and reassuring. Thank you so much FPRA. Who wouldn't want to be a member?

Extremely useful service for those trying to run a residents association. Lots of information available to members and the ability to ask questions and get advice from an amazing team of experts is invaluable. Very satisfied with the decision to join. It was money well spent.

Anyone who lives in an apartment building should get a group of leaseholders to create a residents' association. And every residents' association should be a member of the FPRA. It has provided valuable property advice to my apartment building plus free legal advice. An excellent resource in navigating today's tough property management world.
