United Kingdom | 24 November 2017I ordered a 12 pack of Jacobs Fig Rolls and received Mcvickies Fig Rolls. The packaging wasn't jst poor it was none existing! I will NOT be ordering from these again. I would like to add to my feedback.."hawthorn health replied immediately to my complaint, issued a full refund and said to keep goods anyway as a gesture of good will"..They have gained 2 more stars for excellent customer service from me!

United Kingdom | 04 September 2017I've been using this company for years and they deliver quickly (as long as they have stock) and are cheaper than anywhere else. My only small critIcism is that their stock levels and web ordering system are not always in sync. I have on one occasion bought two products and received only one due to one of them running out of stock. It was a little frustrating as I needed the product and was dearer elsewhere. But they refunded me as soon as I told them I'd paid for two and received one. They also told me I'd have to wait a few weeks and need to re-order when stocks had been replenished - which did mean checking back every week. Anyway, all companies have room for improvement, their communication to customers could be better along with their stock system. However, I'm giving this company a 5 because they are ethical, responsive (when things go wrong) and provide unbeatable value on good quality products and deliver quickly when they have stock.

United Kingdom | 16 August 2017I have been ordering from Hawthorn Health quite frequently over the past year, and despite the negative reviews, I have had very little problems with them. I mainly shop on there for the health foods, which in other places are usually very expensive, but this site has excellent prices and has saved me a lot of money. They are quick to dispatch, and I usually receive my order within at least three days, even on the budget shipping. Customer service is great, speedy to respond if I have any queries. I also get emails when my order has been processed and dispatched, and if it is arriving in separate shipments. They do use Yodel to deliver, which has never been a problem for me. Some people have been leaving negative reviews based on issues with Yodel, but I believe it all depends on what courier driver you have in your area - mine just happens to be very efficient. I have always had my items delivered straight to me or left outside my flat when I am away. Overall, my experience has been very positive with Hawthorn Health and I do recommend this website if you are looking to save money.

United Kingdom | 15 May 2017Their systems are antiquated and if you fall into one of their 'potholes' they just denigh the problem and say 'talk to the hand'. The result was my package went to the wrong address and they would not even refund me the poxy £3.30 postage to cover the cost of my having to pay the postage for a second time to get the package sent onto my home address. Their card payment form is not comprehensive and modern enough. I am in the slightly unusual situation of having a card that's registered at a different address from my home address (all legit and in the family!). I want the bill and the package to come to my home address, not to the CARDHOLDER address. I buy things from all over the internet: millets, gap, woolovers, Cotswold, urban outfitters, etc... and always just put my home address as both billing and delivery address, and payment always goes through fine (with security question) but on Hawthorn Health's antiquated form you have to say at the beginning what the billing address is and then check a box to say deliver to different address. I just put my home address for billing, as I have done for every other company I've ever used, and so did not need to check the 'deliver to different' address box. The payment was then refused because it said billing address (by which they actually mean CARDHOLDER address) was not correct. So I changed it to cardholder address and so package was sent to cardholder address instead of to my home address, because the box saying deliver to different address was still unticked. I can't have been expected to remember this, and even if I had there was no opportunity to go back and update the earlier details anyway. The point here is that this complaint may be a rare one but it is a VALID one (proved by the fact that most responsible companies HAVE thought about this particular scenario and adjusted their systems to deal with it.), but this lot just don't want to know. (I've also just noticed a discrepancy with prices. I went straight to their site via a google ad, with the product marked at £3.68 but if I go to their website via different route the product is £3.12, so something weird going on there). I am also very annoyed because I have used Dolphin Fitness in Sussex in the past who are very efficient but I objected to the amount of packaging they were sending my items in. But this lot are not only a bunch of amateurish numbskulls that give e-commerce a bad name, but they also use a ridiculous amount of packaging. oh yes, and they don't answer the phone. You just get a recorded message telling you to email.

United Kingdom | 04 May 2017DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY !!! Please avoid them ! This company uses yodel delivery system , they claim they delivered your parcel. The tracking system will not show where they left it - just saying "left at your porch " it's a joke ! No card left behind saying they left it at your porch ,so sigh of delivery at all . Seems to me like just take money from many costumers and totally ignore the costumers .

I'm hoping that the bad reviews are from a small minority who felt the need to express their frustrations after experiencing problems with the service. I'll still use them in the future, as my service this far has been positive, and the choice and process are so good.

United Kingdom | 04 April 2017I ordered 6 x packets of Kallo Caramel rice cakes and actually received 6 x Belgian Chocolate rice cakes. I emailed to ask ref changing the item was informed that they would only consider an exchange if i sent them an image of the Chocolate rice cakes,?! Really,!! I described the item they had sent in detail & apart from the fact that I had no idea how to send an image (yes i am quite elderly) I wouldn't do it on principle.

I tried calling as I wanted the items asap but there was an answer phone and I emailed them. I received a prompt and courteous reply stating my items would be with me within 2-4 days (that was yesterday). Today I received my items. I am very pleased with their service and also the price. I have seen other comments about service, delivery, payment, etc. I paid via paypal - so no issues. I didn't pay extra for faster delivery yet I got them quicker. I will continue to buy more from them and I hope their excellent service continues.

United Kingdom | 14 March 2017Their prices are good, and I've had a couple of orders where everything arrived as ordered. However, I've had more times when things went wrong. For example, I ordered clear spring matcha tea, but got sunflower oil- The picture and description were for matcha tea, but the title said sunflower oil. They refused to rectify things. Another time I bought sterol tablets listed as 1500mg 30 tabs, but the listing didn't make it clear that it took 3 tablets to achieve 1500mg, so I effectively paid 3x what I expected. Just this week, I ordered 3x 1050ml laundry liquid, to only receive 1. They said the 3x meant triple strength, but there is no mention of triple or 3x on the product packaging, so again I feel ripped off- I would never have paid that for just 1 bottle. I also ordered 6 x pesto and received 6 jars, so I think it's their error given that they used the same 3x or 6x form, but they won't accept it, so I'm stuck with triple price laundry liquid. I've also had a number of orders with missing items, and plenty with damaged one- Boxes of lentils in small packs arriving with no padding around them split etc. You also need to watch their postage charges. £3.99, but go over a certain weight and you end up with 10.00 + charge. Their prices are generally good, but their customer service is appalling, and I don't know if the savings are worth the stress.
