Software stopped working! I bought this in December and it worked for a couple of weeks. Tried it today and in May and it no longer works. I contacted customer service and they said they will escalate it to the relevant team. It's completely disappointed to pay for the software, and then have your license key revoked and it no longer works. And for the record, the software itself mostly works for recovery but not always

I got the software in 2019 and changed a few computers since then. I needed to recover some files from an old external HDD and because my version is obsolete, for some reasons my activation key wouldn't work. The customer service advisor Swatantra, very patently provided me with information and solutions based on my case. He proved to be very knowledgeable and understanding.

NOT LIFETIME even though the name is in the title, Terrible customer service, very slow software. I emailed customer service with my order number and asked if my older computers could be removed as registered devices since I no longer had the computer and since the software terms stated it could only be loaded on one device. I received a reply stating my software was no longer supported despite [lifetime] being in the actual title making one think I would receive future updates. Here was the name of my product per my invoice "Stellar Data Recovery Premium for Mac [LifeTime]" I was then told I had to many activations and would need to purchase the most recent version of the software since mine wasn't supported. This completely ignored my request. I tried to reply to the email but the company had BLOCKED my email address after ONE email which I was very polite and made a basic request. I couldn't even reply to ask why [lifetime] was in the title or why I couldn't have my other computer removed so I could load the software on my computer. This is definitely not an honest, helpful, or trustworthy company. When I compared their software to the competitor Disk drill Stellar software was significantly slower using the trial software of both companies. I gotta say Stellar you will not receive my money for an upgrade! Update: Seen below stellar customer support replied saying to reach out with a case number as they could not find one. I replied within 48hr with the case number. It's now been a couple weeks with no reply. Seems there automated replies are just for show to make it look like they actually address issues. 2nd Update: I just received a call from stellar after posting my update. The person on the call claimed they reached out on by email on may 20th with a free update so while I was on the phone I checked both spam and my mail archive. I found the email he was talking about and it was to offer me a discount on purchasing new software when I purchased LIFETIME software. He then ask me to change my negative review multiple times and promised to send me a new activation code if I changed my review. I told him after being blocked after one polite email, then not getting a reply via trust pilot after they ask for more info which I gave, now get this call saying they will give me a new activation key if I updated my review I said I would not be changing my review because it was indeed a one star experience. Having received a call means they did see my original reply on trust pilot they just chose to ignore me until I posted an update with what really went down after they posted their message. I still have not received an updated software or key replacement. Likely because my review has not changed. Not cool Stellar. Don't advertise LIFETIME if you won't honor it without lots of headaches.

The program failed to activate so that was NOT great. Running the program on my lost data demonstrated that it was capable of recovering files which brought me to the step of purchases the activation code. I filed a trouble ticket and sent an email for help. The email did not result in success so I had to call and the person that helped me was exceptional (Swati Jadhav). Unfortunately, it appears that the sw development has not resolved what appears to be a long existing problem with activation. I don't like being your beta tester but perhaps that reflects the sale price.
