United Kingdom | 24 January 2025I have just returned from a cruise on P&O Iona From Southampton an have never had such a horrid experience I was to understand when i booked with you That my holiday was fully inclusive did not even have to pay tips that was not so as soon as i got on thought i would have a coffee had to pay £3.25 when i asked Why they told me there was a machine i could get coffee free no in the machine was not coffee but hot brown water Then went to reception and ask for the Wi-Fi code No if i wanted internet it was £255 or one device for 2 i had to pay another £180 Got to my cabin it was fine so went for a walk round the ship to get the idea were every thing was Got back and looked at the info on the TV telling me i had to book for my meals and to log on to my holiday How you could do that if you did not pay for the internet i don’t know the joke then started logged in And chose the restaurant i wanted to eat at i was told not to close my phone down as they would get back to me when my table was ready wait for it 45min later i was. Told my table was ready but if i did not get there in 15 min it would be given to somebody else just what you want on a holiday. I am not looking for sympathy but my husband had died 5 weeks before after 2 years of being very ill and just wanted to get away for some me time. It went on from there though i would go get some entertainment 😂😂😂 No you have to book it were they got there people that was called entertainer's i dont know they were unbelievable the comedian you had to see him to Believe it i could not even raise a smile let alone a laugh The only thing i did enjoy was a Irish lady that did a talk on Marine Biology very interesting and 3 Black guys that sang Motown and blues they were very entertaining. lets talk about my cabin nice good size and i had a balcony which was a saving for me as i spent a lot of time in there, We’re it fell down was the cabin steward i had so much trouble trying to get hold of him as the small bits that were on the floor stayed there for 4 days as a frequent traveler or have been in the past i always with a pencil so it comes off when washed mark the bedding it got to day 10 before i caught up with him to show him the marks i had made to prove he had not changed my bedding or hovered my floor. You will be pleased that i will leave it there but will never go on a P&O ship ever again and as i was told by your company it was a fully inclusive holiday will have to think carefully if i would use you again sorry to say that but the experience was so upsetting Regards Gwendoline Pheasant

I later received a callback from Callum, who was very personable and knowledgeable. He provided us with a quote, providing cabin numbers in a a decent location and near to one another. I went away to discuss this with the others in our party. In the meantime I found another company with a slightly cheaper price online. We decided to book but, as Callum had done a lot of legwork (and having used ROL before), I phoned him back the next day and informed him of this, asking if he would match, which he did. I therefore booked and paid the deposits. All been easy so far with follow up confirmation emails.

Many customers, especially for P&O are elderly, and it would be good to advise them to check the cost of insurance BEFORE booking a cruise. We have just returned from a Caribbean cruise and were refused by your recommended insurance company. Luckily others were more accommodating or we would have to cancel and lose our deposit.
