I had my eyes tested at Tesco which I had no problem they seemed rather good chose my glasses unfortunately the frames were digging into my nose and making it sore so I went back the guy in the shop just altered them by bending the frames outward from the bridge which made the bifocal completely out of line so I couldn't see out of the glasses as I should have been able to he just made me feel stupid which I'm not definitely won't be back there

I recently had the unfortunate displeasure of 'ALMOST' shopping at Vision Express in Tesco, Rainham, Essex. I was busy looking at glasses when I heard a member of staff who I assume is the manager, from the derogatory manner in which she was speaking, talking to 2 other staff members like absolute trash as clear as day in front of myself and other customers. I turned to see what the commotion was about but the poor lady and gentleman looked so embarrassed it made me feel really uncomfortable so I left. With it being a weekend, it was reasonably busy so why she felt the need to address them in this manner in the middle of a busy shop I have no idea but it was highly embarrassing for all concerned. As a manager in retail myself, I could never imagine talking to my members of staff in that manner, particularly in front customers. Absolutely disgusting behaviour and terrible management. I'm glad to say I took my custom elsewhere. I only wish I had some vacancies available to offer to the poor, humiliated members of staff. I will NEVER shop there again.

Dreadful quality and poor service related to it. The eye test was good. Had two pairs of glasses. The first slipped off my nose during the first fitting/reading test and landed on the reading card and broke. The second slipped off my nose while at my desk, landed on the desk (maximum of 18 inches) and broke in identical place. Previously I had two pairs of rimless glasses which lasted 6 years. These two pairs didn’t last 6 weeks. They replaced the first pair, not the second. I think it was poor quality in way the lenses were mounted on the arms. But they are refusing to take any action and wont give me a method to complain. Will obviously have to get some better quality lenses and someone competent at putting them together. Dreadful service.

Most opticians change your glasses nose pads for free. Tesco Opticians refused point blank to do it. Disappointed.

Have used my local Tesco opticians for four years and until three months ago had been happy with the service...however having ordered two pairs of glasses in early September, had incorrect lenses in the first order, the one pair incorrect in the second (photochromatic lenses instead of sunglasses), and having been told orders had been placed, promised phone calls etc etc, I am finally at the end of my tether. Still waiting for my sunglasses, and to be fair they did give me the photochromatic glasses free of charge ( well, no use to anyone else anyway, so not much point in taking them back), I am so disgusted with their inability to do any record keeping, and thereby me having to wait until a specific staff member is back at work...sometimes three days, it is just ridiculous. I will not be using Salisbury Tesco Opticians again.

Ive been going to Tesco Opticians for a good 8 years maybe more. I have always found the staff to be very helpful and not too pushy. I have had to change my prescription a few times and have purchased Frames as they are such great value. The 3rd time they just replaced the lenses and it was a quick and cheap service with a great product at the end. Thank you so much Tesco. I go to Tesco Baldock Hertfordshire but have heard great things about all the Hertfordshire Stores

So disappointing. I went to Tesco Wrexham for my eye test to explain to the doctor I was getting some sort of double vision, something I was referred to the hospital with about 12 years ago as a young child. The optician told me there was absolutely nothing wrong with my eyes, and even after questioning him, which he thought was humorous, he let me walk out of there with nothing but disappointment. I later went to another Brand of Opticians who confirmed I do indeed have a prism in my eyes and need to be referred back to the hospital and a strong prescription. I will never be returning or recommending Tesco Opticians to anyone.

The eye test begun with a free eye test which was great. However my glasses were ordered in but it was the wrong colour so they offered me the glasses off display-which I still had to pay full price for. However, a couple of months later, the arm of the glasses were close to snapping. I took them back into store just to be told they are not a manufacturing fault and that to replace them I must pay again for new frames. I decided not to buy new frames and I have took my custom elsewhere!

Paid £90 for replacement lenses. After two weeks I picked up the glasses to discover part of the frame was now missing and had been lost in the meanwhile. The arm of the glasses now bends back to an extreme angle and is now useless. After advising the lady behind the till, all she could do was stare at me slack jawed, shrug and mumble that it had been lost. Guess I now have to buy another set of frames at a cost of £125 to myself so I can actually wear the glasses Tesco Opticians broke. You get what you pay for, worth just paying a bit more for a more professional service.

Went for routine eye test at my local Tesco after the test that was very brief no longer than 10 minutes was told you are ileagal to drive as I can't see more that 5 feet away I thought hang on this is a bit strange as read the bottom line to him no problem and can read a number plate at 90 feet away no problem said are you sure? He huffed at me and said yes you can't drive your car home or you will be uninsured if you do as I have told you so ! I didn't argue any further they orderd my 2 pairs of glasses said be here 2 days time costing £145 I wasn't happy with what I had been told as I can see as I said I came as routine not because I was struggling or anything had to cancel my work for the next 2 days as told needed glasses to drive or braking the law so I went for a 2nd eye test at boots was in there a good 30 minutes was given a prescription for some glasses to wear if I felt I needed them I asked do I need them was told no but would be bit better at long distance I then asked is my eye sight ok without glasses for me to drive he said yes I said are you sure I am within the legal limits he said your no where near the limits you perfectly fine to drive ! I am so angry with Tescos as I feel I was husseld into buying glasses I don't peticly need and making me get a taxi home and leaving my car there and losing 2 days pay as thought I couldn't work as I am a driver for my job AVOID !!!!!!!

Had to visit Basingstoke branch today at very short notice due to a sudden eye problem. Got an appointment within a few hours despite not being a current patient. The service was fantastic. Everyone was so friendly and the optician was great - really thorough, explained why the problem had occurred and reassured me. The other staff were lovely and chatted to me whilst I had to wait for some eye-drops to take effect. Would definitely recommend them.

Rang in to book an appointment, got put through to a national contact centre rather than being able to speak to the individual store. Then got transferred to the actual store because the person in the contact centre couldn't answer my query. When speaking to the store I explained to the woman that I was just wanting to pay for a contact lens appointment as I buy my lenses online and I just needed my prescription checking. The woman on the phone then proceeded to try and discourge me to use them by pointing out they may recommend a lens that I couldn't buy online. After having a look on their website it would be very unlikely as they sell exactly the same ones as most leading opticians do, especially as I wear lenses for astigmatism which significantly reduces my choice! After I pointed this out she then asked which contact lens I have been wearing, presumably so she could state they do not sell them, which she did. Please be warned when trying to pay for just a prescription how rude Tesco are!!

Always had glasses for reading and using laptop small print is a bit fuzzy went for eye test and the option insisted there was also a problem with my distance vision i said I have never had any problems with my distance he said well if you were driving there would be a problem (I add I do not drive ) but I know that is not the point so I said why don't we go outside to carpark and you ask me to read some number plates at a distance option said no no need but there is clearly a problem with your distnce why not have some vairifocals ( he comes the hard sell ) ended up with some very expensive vairifocals they tried to also sell me extras like tinits extra thin lenses anti glare etc so I get my new classes and I know vairifocals take time to adjust to them but my issues is I can't walk whilst wearing them and this is 3 weeks later why you ask because they distort my distance vision. Maybe and I know I am no expert but they are my eyes and I know them well but I don't have any problems with my distance !. I have been to another optician and had an eye test guess what no problems with my distance so I shall be returning to Tesco FOR MY MONEY BACK !

On the last two occasions I have arrived for my appointment and on both occasions the optician couldn't be asked to arrive on time. This is the Ashby de la Zouch store. They did promise to get back to me in 72 hours after the first time which they failed to do. I was embarrassed for the assistant who put a brave face on things twice.
