United Kingdom | 24 August 2017What a great experience. Why can't all shopping experiences be like this. From walking in, having my eye test to collecting my glasses I couldn't have wished for better service from everyone. Highly recommend Tesco Opticians at Askham Bar

United Kingdom | 19 August 2017Called into Tesco opticians in Haverfordwest as I had developed a floater in my eye. Seen within an hour by the optician who examined me, explained the problem and re assured me that it would heal without any treatment. Cannot praise the service highly enough. Wonderful service.

United Kingdom | 18 August 2017Long time ago now but suffice to say I have gone back to my old glasses. A costly mistake and I must now go to another optician to get new ones. Staff were pleasant enough but very young and inexperienced. No checks on inner eye which other opticians do as standard.

United Kingdom | 18 August 2017I was recommended that Tesco Knocknagoney opticians was excellent. The optical assistants and optician had too many things to do at the one time which in fairness is not completely their fault. When going for pretest the optical assistant had to leave me and deal with a customer browsing glasses. So, the optician did pretests then straight in for test. I got an optician called Mirade with one of the tests she tightly put her hands on my head and said keep your head still and positioned my head quite firmly and aggressively. Choosing glasses was fine and the optical assistant was very helpful. Apparently there is an other optician who works there called Susan I have heard brilliant reports about her. Lookslike I was unfortunate that I didn't get her must have been her day off. So now I just stick to specsavers Victoria centre in Belfast.

United Kingdom | 15 August 2017Went through the entire online booking process, clicked all the necessary confirmation buttons. As a digital savvy person, I walked away convinced I had booked an appointment. But it didn't go through. I called the contact centre who confirmed the process allows you to book.... but until you are given a second form of confirmation you're booking may not have gone through. Crappy system

United Kingdom | 14 August 2017non professional approach need improvements The optometrist from colney hatch lane took out my prescription trial lenses samples on her table, I supposed she meant for me to try them on, I noticed the prescriptions shown on boxes, same as my prescription, I asked her were these for me? she said prescription just close by only. I trusted her. Then she booked me a 3 days later appt, I asked her when I arrived 3 days later, how come this time I did not need to wait for phone call from them to know my lenses arrived, last time took a week ( I know this because I tried my 1st trial contact lenses sample, but not fit) . She said they already have them in stock, and she asked me didn’t I tell you previously ?( she meant when I last saw her 3 days ago) . I could be wrong, but I guess she suddenly realised she couldn't book me another same day appt, so she changed her mind and booked me in for another appt 3 days later. I told the optometrist about blurry and headache when looked at pc monitor or closer distance (cans packaging on shopping shelves ) with contact lenses on while shopping at Tesco, because the lenses just for distance, I was told I have too high expectation , I need to compromise that. That’s fine, I accept that, my lenses just for distance, now I know. Then I asked about Multifocal lenses (which I heard about recently) that for distance, intermediate and closer range, no answer, just compromise with my lenses or put on reading glasses when look at closer distance. To be fair, at the end she did say can reduce the distance prescription so able to see closer range, but meaning I won't be see far clearly? I think there should be better ways to deal with my prescriptions, I shall go to another optician for 2nd opinion.

United Kingdom | 07 August 2017From purchase, the 2 pairs of rimless glasses purchased were basically poorly made, lenses loose on central bridge and kept falling off my nose. One pair were sent back to the lab immediately, the other pair tightened in the shop however, within half an hour they were loose again. The issue was that the holes drilled were larger than the plugs fitted therefore would never be ok. Total unwillingness by staff to have the second pair sent back to the lab and this was within a month of purchase. In addition, I paid an extra £40 to have shock proof slimline lenses, totally ripped off. Both pairs identical thickness at 3mm, one pair should have been at least 1.8mm, when I complained, I was told that it was not possible to have the lenses less than 3mm, which I know from other opticians is not the case. For my £40 I simply received an anti glare coating which is of no benefit as they are reading glasses, I could have saved my self the £40 had been given the full information up front . Tesco opticians are cheap and you certainly get what you pay for. Shall avoid in future.

United Kingdom | 05 August 2017Tesco opticians is by far the worst customer service i have ever recieved from any shopping experience. I ended up having a contact lense test at sepcsavers and their customer service was excellent. There aftercare and ordering and collecting service also has a proper working system. Tesco however have no system that works for the customer its purely there for their own benefit. I went back to tesco with my up to date lense prescription. They said they will scan it in my records and then when i go in they can just give me my lenses as they always have them in stock. Now as a one off i ordered colorblend so on the specsavers it says tht. However after checking with the opticians tesco gave me my normal daily focus to take away. The following month i went in and was told you cant have any lenses bcoz we need an up to date sight test prescription. So how did they give me the lenses last time!!!! Then it took me an hour just to try and get specsavers to send over that then they showed the opticians and gave me my focus dailies. Then i went back a month later and they checked and saw my scanned prescriptions and gave me my focus dailies. I went back today and the man serving me said he cant give me the focus dailies bcoz it sys colorblends on the prescription and then he said it was bcoz he could see two diffwrent strengths on the computer. I explained that i was given them last month and the mnth before but he said he cant give me them imcase he gives me the wrong ones. I was willing to show him the boxes i have but he said no. I asked him if i could speak to a manager he said no managers till tomorrow i asked if he could call an oncall optician he said no. I even suggested they put a record on the computer everytime i come to collect my focus dailies so i wouldnt have to go through this every time. But no it seems they dont have any system tht records ur purchase even if u are registerd withbthem. So with no records they have to donthe same checks every time and if ur served by someone different then they dont have a clue what happened on ur last visit so they refuse to help you. Then i left fuming and angry and had a few angry words i got home and got a phone call from that person to say are you innthe store becose i can now give you the lenses. I was livid!!!!! I drove home and he said he called his calleuge and she said it was ok to give me the lenses bcoz she served me last so she knew. For gods sake they cud hav jst noted down every time i made a purchase so thy hav a record ots commen sense and good customer service. Then bcoz i was still angry he said it was bcoz inwas angry he didnt knw wht to do as i was blaming him. I did not blame him personally inwas blaming their system but yes i did say he could hav asked me to take a seat and he could have called anyone for advice. Instead his answe was i cant help come back tomorow. Ofcourse im angry then he calls and says he can give me the lenses and bcoz i was angry he said the customer he was with is even saying just leave it bcoz its not worth it im jst being angry i couldnt believe hes telling me that! He then said the amanger will speak to you tomorrow and with that he put the phone down on me. Great customer service and all that just to buy lenses which inpurchase every month from them. Go to specsavers!!!!

United Kingdom | 29 July 2017Family have used Tesco Horsham for a few years now. Good customer service, no pressure to sell expensive frames or lenses. No complaints.

United Kingdom | 26 July 2017Eye test fine but recommendations were for the most expensive lenses with all the trimmings so basically they just wanted my wife to spend top dosh. They were a little miffed when we decided to take the prescription and go elsewhere. Had they have not been so "selling orientated" and offered a fuller choice from the lower end of the range they might have made a sale.

United Kingdom | 23 July 2017Booked 5 eye tests (whole family) Tesco Thurrock - first appointment 9:50 so got three teenagers out of bed.. through Dartford tunnel.. 40 minutes early so had a drink in the cafe! Were told after waiting 5 minutes that the agency optician wasn't coming... they may be able to do one or two tests!! Shambles! Very unhappy 😔 would not return!

United Kingdom | 19 July 2017My glasses are useless despite them redoing them, complete waste of money.

United Kingdom | 17 July 2017Shambolic Service, Wait for appointments ridiculous, opticians rude and couldnt care less. I would avoid at all costs. I started the process of trying to get my new contact lenses from Tesco in Swindon in May, I am now being told the next available appointment is August meaning it will be 4 months from the first call to actually getting my lenses. I'm going elsewhere.

United Kingdom | 17 July 2017After having my appointment to sign off my contact lenses, I was eagerly awaiting delivery of my lenses. The lenses arrived on a Saturday and imagine my disappointment when I realised they were my old prescription. I contacted the branch to tell them this and was informed that this was the prescription that had been signed off. I asked why when I had a new prescription would the old prescription be signed off? I was passed onto the female optician who informed me she could do nothing and I needed to wait until the other optician returned on Tuesday. I expressed that this was just not good enough and they had left me down as I now had no contact lenses. The female optician told me that I had never had the prescription lenses that I was saying I should have. Insinuating a clustomer is a liar is never a good move, especially when you are the one that ordered the trial lenses in the first place. When I pointed this out, she seemed embarrassed and rightly so she should. I was told I would have some trial lenses sent to me free of charge and that I needed to go into branch on Tuesday with the lenses which had wrongly been sent. I returned the lenses to branch on the Tuesday and asked for my direct debit to be cancelled as I had now ordered lenses off line. The lenses I ordered on line from another company took just 3 days to arrive, where as the free trial lenses from Tesco took nearly a week. I will not be using Tesco Opticians again as they are not only dearer and much slower but they do not seem to be able to organise a tea party in a tea factory!

United Kingdom | 14 July 2017My husband and I have been going to Tesco Opticians at Sprowston, Norwich for some years now. The opticians are thorough and knowledgeable and inspire confidence. The reception/ancillary staff are wonderfully welcoming and kind. I've always chosen the very reasonably-priced frames and my last ones were only £20. This included a full eye test and the lenses according to my prescription. They were ready the next day! I can't imagine any other opticians offering such an excellent, reliable service at such a low cost. I'd like to thank all concerned - brilliant!

John
United Kingdom | 12 July 2017Absolutely terrible service delivery times way too long. i spent nearly £400 on lenses alone and was told I could not have a new case because the frames were mine. I subsequently found that i could have bought the exact same lenses for over £100 less from another high street opticians and over £150 less from a private optician. I will never ever use this optician again

United Kingdom | 10 July 2017After tears of great spectacles from Tesco , I had a problem with them this year . I could not use either pair , as the focus was really bad enough to make me dizzy every time I wore them . I returned them to Tesco over ten times , each time they took them away for a few minutes and bent them to a different angle . All to no avail ! I even had my sight retested at another organisation . They stated that Tesco had got the measurements wrong ! I eventually got Tesco to get another pair made up . Although this was a complaint , and I have not been able to use my spectacles for over seven months , they did not treat the matter as urgent , and when I telephoned them today , they stated that I STILL have to wait until the twentieth of July ! Not good enough Tesco !

United Kingdom | 05 July 2017Brought my glasses from Tesco and had transition lens which I have had in the past with no issues from other opticians. Tesco say they put anti scratch on the lens for free but not even had the glasses for two month and the lens have scratched. I went into the store as I have not dropped the glass and only cleaned with the glass cloth. the optician took the glass to look at and said no scratch he then cleaned the glasses and I need to point the scratch out to him. he then said there must have been grit on the cloth and this can happen nothing he would do when I questioned the anti scratch he said £90 to replace and that glasses do scratch even with anti scratch on them. poor response to question only interest in getting more money and not help customers with question on a product they supply.
