United Kingdom | 24 October 2020I bought a brand new Adria 60 SPGB motorhome from Highbridge, I asked them to fit an external gas point to find it had been fitted on the inside and sliding door had to be wide open in order to use it. They told me that is where they always fit it. I drove it out of their yard and engine warning light came on and the fuel tank was empty and there was 147 miles on the clock. Having paid £56,000 for a new vehicle I would of expected a pre sale vehicle check should have picked this up. They did pay for the tank to be filled with fuel and made an appointment to return vehicle to get engine warning light fixed. Rather than going home approx 100 miles I decided to stay on a site overnight. In the morning noticed the leisure battery was dead, checked solar panel and found that it was not working, also-screw covers missing from ceiling fixtures. Widow catch missing, panel above door which controls water pump not working. All the above should have been found if a pre sale check had been done. I contacted Highbridge they agreed to collect it and take it back to get the faults sorted, I did ask for an extra leisure battery to be fitted as compensation. The work was done but they said there was not enough room to fit an extra battery so no compensation. I had another battery fitted local to where I live and also an exterior gas point, Highbridge agreed to pay for them. After the additional battery had been fitted all the power to the rear had gone, so Highbridge agreed to collect again to put it right, which they did and also fitted an Ariel free of charge. When the vehicle was returned to me someone had worn dirty oily boots in the van leaving grease stains all over the carpets, also coffee stains on the worktop and last but not least someone had used the toilet in the van without flushing it away. Highbridge did agree yo pay for new carpets. I cannot think anything else could go wrong so fingers crossed I can enjoy using my new van.
