United Kingdom | 09 January 2019I passed my test almost 5 years ago with No gears. After years of on/off driving and having no confidence, and almost giving up completely... I found No Gears and never looked back. Brilliant company. Reliable and brilliant rates. My instructor was Rob and he was just fantastic. I passed first time and it really has changed my life. I highly recommend No Gears. 5 star without a doubt.

United Kingdom | 09 January 2019I personally have never wanted to drive but after family illnesses it was my only option, I tried manual driving lessons but felt to pressured, I rang no gears, and explained my situation, my lessons started in February and I had passed by July, my instructor Rob was very patient and informative and made me feel at ease, each lesson was relaxed and Rob became a friend, thankyou Rob and no gears for helping me through my journey of learning to drive.

United Kingdom | 09 January 2019I have passed my test at first time with Rob (only3 minors). Lessons were really enjoyable. Rob is a superb driving instructure and I would highly recommend him to everyone. Unfortunately he has moved out of Bedfordshire otherwise my teen son would be definately taking a driving lessons with Rob in the near future.

United Kingdom | 08 January 2019Whilst living in Bedfordshire I was looking for an instructor who only taught automatic. I was recommended Rob and all I can say is I haven't looked back since. He came out of his way for my lessons, put me straight at ease and after 30 hours of lessons I passed both my theory and practical first time with only a couple of minors. Rob is professional with the patience of a saint; his instruction is worth every penny. I highly recommend.

United Kingdom | 08 January 2019Passed my test first time with Rob and with only two minors. Lessons were relaxed and enjoyable (actually missed them when I passed) I needed extra support with lesson times and instruction due to dyslexia and Rob provided this and always tried to explain things in a way i could understand. I will be starting my 17 year old son with no gears in the immediate future.

United Kingdom | 07 January 2019After having problems with clutch control and hating roundabouts i was reccomended to try automatic and no gears were the only automatic driving school in my area in Bedfordshire. Rob was my allocated instructor and was excellent. He was reliable patient and made difficult tasks seem easy, and his sense of humour really helped me relax. I was lacking confidence and was becoming anxous but Rob got me through my test second time as i was speeding on my first! Oops! Thankyou No Gears and thankyou Rob!

United Kingdom | 07 January 2019This driving school was recommended to me by a friend and all I can say is Rob from No Gears was superb. He was always polite reliable and fun and made my learning experience very enjoyable. I had tried manual and I feared roundabouts but Rob gave me confidence and I passed my test. I now have a little car and I don't know how I would have carried on without doing automatic. Thanks Rob!

United Kingdom | 21 October 2018Chose your instructor carefully. Do not use ‘No Gears’ in Letchworth. Masood was the driving instructor, who had first seemed ok. We would book 1 and a half hour lessons - then he would show and say it would just be an hour - always late, would grab the steering wheel, had a complicated love life you’d have to listen to and the last straw for me was 6 weeks before my test, we had booked a lesson and he never showed up. I text him and said ‘we had a lesson booked’ and he rang me and replied ‘oh did you not get my text?!’ The man is a liar as he never sent one. I am a 51 year old woman and he treated me like a was a 17 who wasn’t going to stick up for themself. I complained to ‘No Gears’ in Hemel Hempstead and the manager text me and said that Masood said I was no good at taking instructions off of him. First I heard! So he was actually trying to detract from the fact that he did wrong and lied and tried to blame me! Poor iSpineless man - couldn’t take responsibility, you lied Masood and you know you did. And although they assigned another instructor - I’d lost the faith in this ‘driving school’ and went with a completely different school. Fortunately for me I passed my test yesterday. Do not use ‘No Gears’ unprofessional and unreliable is an understatement.

United Kingdom | 31 January 2018I thought the instructor was quite rude. The following is mentioned on their website: "relaxed stress free learning environment to ensure that their pupils enjoy their learning experience." However, I did not feel relaxed at all because the instructor was very patronising and did not let me drive on my own. He was constantly taking control of the steering wheel. He was not polite and calm when giving me advice which really stressed me out. It's the first time that I am driving so you cannot expect me to drive perfectly on the third lesson. I do not enjoy my driving lessons because I am always on edge. Don't recommend this school at all.

United Kingdom | 06 October 2017Do not recommend at all. Stay away. Genuinely one of the worst experiences of my life with this driving school. The instructor was one of the most unorganised, rude and unprofessional people I have ever met. I had purchased a 24 hour intensive course via a different online company and was sent an instructor from NoGears driving school. The instructor was never on time, never showed up to the agreed meeting point and would wait until last minute to let me know of any changes - we had agreed to meet at 10am at one pick up point and he would contact me 10 minutes before we are supposed to meet to let me know he can't do 10am and we need to change it for the afternoon for a completely different pick up point. There was not a single time that the instructor ever showed up to our meeting point for our lesson, on time and I often had to wait for over 30 minutes because I had shown up on time. This went on for the entire course. I had 2 hour block lessons and the lessons would never actually last this long, the instructor would take me to pick up other students rather than finishing my lesson then starting with a new student. He would never pay attention during lessons, often on his phone or shouting out the window when he saw someone he knew, I found this unbelievably uncomfortable and unprofessional. Originally, I had booked my test for the beginning of September and had stressed to the instructor how important it was for me to pass my test earlier, I ended up having to reschedule my test for late November which was such an inconvenience. Outside of my lesson times, I had been practising with my mum and could tell my driving was improving so when I saw there was a test cancellation for the end of September, I decided to move my test. The day before and on the day of the test I had another 2 2hr lessons - one of which only lasted an hour and a half because he decided that he had enough of me and wanted to go pick up another student because he was angry at the fact that I had moved my test earlier, instead of helping me improve on my mistakes, he continued to shout at me and tell me I will fail my test - which I actually did- and he was not willing to take me for the test. I don't think it works like that. On the day of the test, he proceeded to continuously tell me that I am going to fail my test and shouted at me several times for not being able to bay park - SOMETHING THAT HE HAD NOT TAUGHT ME UNTIL 10 MINUTES BEFORE MY TEST. He somehow made it seem as though it were my mums responsibility to teach me things that he had not. Which it was not. I was not paying him to teach myself. I found my lessons with him to be incredibly uncomfortable and often made me angry and upset because he was such an aggressive person. Stay away from this driving school, I have wasted so much time, waiting for the instructor to actually show up and money on these lessons, I could have saved myself the headache and stress and gone to a different driving school, however, I was desperate to pass my test quickly and didn't have a lot of time to look around for driving schools. I have contacted NoGears and the company that originally passed me on to them but I am unsure what they are able to do.
