Ireland | 29 August 20242 out of 3 items arrived damaged. “Holly” promised a replacement which never arrived. I asked for a refund and have been ignored completely. I find it hilarious that after every time I email this company I get a reply asking me to rate Holly’s customer service. It’s actually abysmal. I’m going to attempt to get my money back through my credit card company, because clearly British Essentials have no intention of rectifying the issue. Buyer beware!

Romania | 27 August 2024I ordered with some trepidation especially after reading some negative reviews about customs, and especially since the website advertised no extra taxes other than the price on display. Of course I panicked a couple of days later when the beans shipped and DHL sent me a form email asking me to fill in some paperwork for tax purposes. The email was confusing so I thought there are taxes to pay so I contacted BE customer support and asked for urgent advice. Not only did they reply on weekend and said to keep the proof of payment and they'll refund me the charges if needed, but DHL also replied separately and told me my shipment is DDP (delivery duty paid) so I only had to complete the papers but not pay anything. Then the shipment arrived in about a week since placing the order. The expiration date is in about 8 months so plenty of time to consume as well. I'm super happy and will order again.

Found out 1st package was send to Finland and not Belgium. No reaction from them anymore Don't use this company pse, be warned !!

United Kingdom | 09 August 2024First & last time I will EVER be using this horrendous company and advise anyone to stay well clear! I placed an order, containing teabags, biscuits & chocolates, to go to a very dear friend in Sweden. It was extremely expensive, but as my friend is very ill, I wanted to surprise her with a box of treats. This order took WEEKS to arrive and not once did I receive any updates - I wasn’t even notified that it had arrived! You can imagine my horror when my poor friend told me that she’d received a demand regarding delivery, that she had to pay 179 Kronor (over £13) and had to collect it herself! I was furious and also very embarrassed as what was supposed to be a gift from myself to a very poorly lady. I emailed BE expressing my anger and received what I now know to be, a auto generated email from ‘Holly’ it is so blatantly obvious that no one even bothers to read our emails as when I replied, I received the exact same response!! At no point was I ever told that there would be extra charges/duty tax to pay - if I’d known beforehand, then I probably wouldn’t send it. My friend shouldn’t have had to pay the extra money - and I am disgusted & cannot stress enough to stay away from this money scamming rip off not fit for purpose company! 🤬

Still waiting for my delivery and got only responses with the same reassurance that parcel will arrive. It was sent on the 15.07.2024 and there was no tracking movement ever since!! I asked for a refund several times but no response. Very bad company with very bad customer service. Be aware!

If you’re trying to stop order they won’t reply until like a few days later later oh, I’m sorry it shipped. We cannot refund you send it back and then we were seeing it without hippie. No thank you so don’t use them.
