It is the main reason I can't leave Greengeeks because at every step I'm sure they hold my hand. For my last project, the customer already have a complex DNS structure with emails and other service on different platform. Greengeeks help me to apply the correct setting to host the website and other services. On top of that, their hosting management platform which is easier than Cpanel, offer many shorcuts to manage your hosting.

United States | 18 November 2024I decided to rewrite my review based on the fact that their customer relations reached out to me and finally resolved the issue. Greengeeks is relatively easy to work with from a UI perspective but I will outline two issues you should be aware of if you decide to host with them. The first is that there's a serious issue with cloning sites using their deployment of Softaculous. wp-config doesn't get updated properly and the newly cloned wordpress installation will not point to the newly created database but will continue to connect to the old one. I wouldn't post this here if it wasn't for the fact that their 1st level support really isn't very knowledgable and I can't even get them to investigate this bug. I ran into a lot of issues because I made the mistake of asking their support to do migrations and cloning. Their 1st level support agents failed to update config files and don't seem to have the skills to check that scripts execute correctly by verifying the results. It's best to run daily backups and copy those backups to AWS or Google Cloud and be equipped to handle recoveries yourself should anything get corrupted. I also recommend using Cloudflare to protect against DDoS and create additional risk mitigations and optimize CDN. If GreenGeeks took the time to train their 1st level support agents to properly verify and edit Softaculous configs and be willing to pass on bug reports then the service would get a 5 stars from me.

Even though it's not their job to do so, they have saved me from some issues over the years (plug in induced crashes and other issues). Lots of features and add-ons, I don't even know how to use them all.. All the employees have been very nice and responsive when I need help or have questions and they are very reasonably priced.

Spain | 14 November 2024My website - a small brand which rely on an e-commerce - has been down for almost 2 DAYS! > Exactly 43 hours Down! We can't gain access to past orders, emails - to proceed to shipment.The website is completely shut down as well as our access to back office.. We are losing potential new customers and substantial money - since it's the Black Friday season and our most important winter months. They have no answers about the delay it will take to solve this. They are just "sorry for the inconvenience and understand our frustration". Among this, I receive the very same day an automatic invoice for a service I never asked for - themselves being unable to fulfill the service we have paid for! I have no words... As they are not a cheap hosting, I consider not renewing and go somewhere the servers are not collapsing and online businesses are safer.

(and the reply to him saying that they don't know about that...) I was very happy with the service but now I'm deeply disappointed and I don't know if I can trust this company anymore. I give 2 and not 1 stars because I really value the environmental care focus.

Romania | 14 November 2024an absolute disaster. the down time on my accounts is HUGE, the answer from Support is quick but thats all they do...they answer, they apologise and the issue is still there. I would think again before I chose this company, I already cancelled one account and will do the same with the next at expiry date
