I needed to get a case of champagne delivered to a friend in Brighton for a big birthday. Butlers were quick, friendly and efficient.

Unfortunately my one and only experience of dealing with Butlers was following a referral from a particular vineyard in Spain. I went online to order their wine and the order confirmed 6 x bottles to be delivered to my home address (many miles from the shop). I paid this in full and awaited delivery. The day after I received a phone call from a member of staff asking when I was collecting it. I was a bit surprised and explained it was being delivered. He explained I had not paid the £10 delivery charge, and I explained it never asked me for one as can be seen from my online order. He asked me to send a copy to him which I did. He then called back and insisted on the £10 which I refused to pay as they had already taken my order which I had paid in full. Following that I had a very terse emailfrom the owner basically saying “pay up or else”. I didn’t respond and within hours received another email refunding my original order and cancelling the order. I managed to get the same wine 20% cheaper from another supplier who didn’t charge me for delivery so I bought a few things from them and the service was amazing!! What has been surprising since is Butlers sent me several emails asking how the wine was!!.....I have no idea you still have it.
