The story of ainslie + ainslie NIGHT POWDER began in 2020, when during the Covid pandemic Sir Ben Ainslie’s sailing team, were required to compete in the 36th America’s Cup in New Zealand. Getting there, operating there, performing there meant no one could afford to get sick. The athletes were provided with a supplementation programme to support sleep and optimise recovery. Working with the body’s natural circadian rhythms to boost immunity and maximise performance the athletes had what they needed, when they needed it most. Ben’s wife, the broadcaster Georgie Ainslie, saw this approach first-hand and it raised a question. If this worked in the toughest of sporting environments, where athletes are required to be both mentally and physically sharp in order to work, train and compete day in, day out, then why couldn’t it work for the rest of us too? After all, it’s not just elite athletes who care about performance. We all have our own standards we want to hit daily and too often we are trying to do that on rubbish sleep and poor recovery.
