I have been using The Hairy Pill now for about three years. It is made a big difference to the amount and quality of hair that I have. I’m 54 years old and postmenopausal. After taking the Hairy Pill for about 20 days I ended up in the ED with serious stomach pains. I was tested for a series of other stomach related illness which were all ruled out. When I stopped taking the Hairy Pill the pain subsided. It tried taking again just to confirm it was the cause and the pain came right back. After stopped I requested a refund which was outright refused. Be very wary, if you have any side effects you will be pushed to continue on the medication and if you cannot tolerate it you will receive no money back on the 3 month prescription.

I can't tell you how relieved I am that I started on The Hairy Pill. After my hair fell out from work related stress it's all I could look at and think about every day. I've been taking the hair pill for 2 months now and have had some side effects from the pills. I spoke with Dr Amanda today who was absolutely hopeless. I told her about my side effects, under eye puffiness and discolouration and she said she'd never heard about that being a side effect. I asked her if there's anything she would recommend, taking it at another time or trying a different medication. She basically said I can either decrease (which might not do anything) or increase (which might increase the effects). I feel like it was a waste of my time speaking with this Dr as she had no other advise to offer. Reading replies from the hairy pill, they have 650+ combinations to prescribe. Surely, if this truly was a Dr, they would be across the options and be able to offer better advise. Completely feel like I've been ripped off, lost so much hair in the two months and haven't seen any growth. My advise would be to go and see a hair specialist in person and don't bother with these online 'doctors'. Edit in reply to hair pill feedback: Dr Amanda, said she had never heard of water retention being a side effect... She only suggested lowering the Minoxidil or increasing the Minoxidil. I called immediately after this phone call, as I felt the answer wasn't satisfactory and rebooked, I specifically requested another Dr. Dr George knew straight away that water retention is a side effect and suggested lowering the dose of minodoxil and increasing the spironolatctone, as a diuretic to help with the water retention. I'm yet to receive my updated prescription to see if this does indeed help.
