United Kingdom | 12 July 2019Doubled our fees and then locked us out of the software when they messed up the direct debit. Lost a day - support is non existent - they refuse to answer the phone. Taxfiler used to be the best available for the small practice. We are now looking for something else, as we need better access, if we get locked out for some admin error we expect to be able to fix it promptly.

United Kingdom | 10 July 2019There are times under FRS102 when the Statement of Changes in Equity need to show transfers directly between reserve accounts. The TF chart of accounts structure in its Accounts Production Software appears to provide very limited support for such transfers and so I asked TF about these limitations. Over the course of 7 to 8 emails, a TF support person proceeded to ask me a series of daft questions which did nothing other than to confirm my suspicion that he was a numpty (to use Charles D’s term). More disappointingly, rather than confirming the limitations of the product that he was supposedly there to support, he just stopped corresponding. I wasted a lot of time corresponding with someone who should not be anywhere near a support role. Unfortunately, I don’t think there are many TF support people so the prospect of a query being fielded by someone other than this employee are high. Subscription costs have recently doubled and support is pathetic. I expected things to go south with the acquisition of TF by Iris. I just had no idea that it would happen quite so quickly.

United Kingdom | 27 June 2019Mike makes good points. TF is easy to use BUT is not always right. In 17/18 a client took a pension lump sum, TF calculated tax at basic rate. A year on [June 2019] TF tax calc says the tax should have been at higher rate and the client owes another £8k!! Their Support guy was a numpty and it took 20 exchanges of email to try to get an explanation of why this happened. No apology. No admission that they messed up. No admission that they should have contacted customers when the problem was discovered in case anyone had understated their tax liability. Very disappointed with their attitude. As Mike says, the price has gone up by a huge amount. Based on this experience, I cannot recommend them.

United Kingdom | 29 May 2019Massive price increase from £12 a month to £36 a month has just been applied to all users. Avoid this company clearly they have no respect for their customers. The software is basic and easy to use but the company has been taken over recently. The 300%price increase is probably just the start. They claim to have introduced some new features that no one has asked for or needs.

United Kingdom | 01 April 2019I have been using Taxfiler for over 3 years now. I was sceptical about using a Cloud Based system, but I have been extremely pleased with it in every aspect. Its very easy to use. It is a hell of a lot quicker than the old system I used to use, and its a lot cheaper. I would definitely recommend it to anyone.

United Kingdom | 11 March 2019Seems like the only true cloud based accounts and tax software for micro businesses like me. We tried tax calc (too expensive) and gbooks (not fit for purpose). This is the best.

I also am very impressed with the customer services team, they are alway super help and come back to me normally within 30min of asking a question. I love it!!
