It is an utter disgrace that people are waiting to enroll on courses and enter the workforce and are being refused because the enhanced DBS service is taking so long. Literally, 2 months to get a DBS check is completely insufficient!!! And they charge you for the service (or lack of).

United Kingdom | 30 September 2022Terrible experience! I received someone else’s personal documents back in the post. When I called I couldn’t get through to anyone. Sent a email but no response, after endless trying on the phone I finally got through to someone and explained my situation, they said they would call back as no managers to talk too! A team leader called Kim called me back and kept talked over me all the time, it was difficult to get my point across! They had no idea where my documents were. They finally ‘thought” they had located my documents and asked the person to send them back. 4 days later I received my documents in post and Kim advice it was all sorted, it was like there was never a problem, Basically my documents, driving license, marriage certificate and bank statement were with someone else and it took a week to get this sorted! You can only leave a message or email and they never get back to you! Absolutely astonishing that this a even a company that deal with such personal data!!

DBS customer service are below any acceptable levels, highly ignorant individuals, arrogant and disrespectful. the system is set that they patronising their customers with no access to talk to anyone like supervisors or mangers simply because they are busy. no options to wait on the phone but only arrange phone callback in the next 24hrs where you just wasting your time with small brain people. useful as chocolate tea pot. fire all of them and employ decent eastern Europians that will do far better job than this wage wasters.

United Kingdom | 05 September 2022Basic DBS check costs £18 from the official Government site. I'm still waiting for a refund from DBS Check Online after over a month. I paid £77 to DBS Check Online beginning of August for the basic check and am being charged £30 to cancel.

United Kingdom | 26 July 2022I order a basic dbs, but i find out 1 hour later, that I was needing the enhanced one.I contacted via email, and requested full refund of my 84£. They refund me 44£. The refund was requested one after, not one day or a week, one hour after. They charge me a 40£ administration fee with no service. That's a scam. Next ombudsman claim Don't use this company's bad business and is a scam.

United Kingdom | 11 May 2022Don’t use. Allowed me to buy a dbs check even though my daughter wasn’t 16. Ridiculous prices too. Requested a cancellation straight away and was charged £15 just for placing the order. They agreed a partial refund and then after waiting 14working days, never refunded me! Stay away from this site.

I accidentally paid for a basic dbs check thinking it was the official site for doing it with it coming up at top of search list and being a .org It took me about 5 mins after submitting when I realized and sent an email saying do not process, please refund long before they had chance to even see my application and start doing anything. They responded saying they will refund minus a £15 "admin" charge. Don't know what admin charge there would be considering they literally had done nothing. They said it would take 7-10 working days. By the 11th working day no refund, so I contacted them. They said they will find out what is going on and respond. I've now spent the last 2 weeks messaging them chasing my refund and keep getting ignored.

Trying to recoup money and cancel is pointless as they hide behind their unfair T&C. Chargeback from your bank or like me Small claims court proceedings is the only way.

United Kingdom | 18 February 2022THEY ARE A FRAUD- AVOID AT ALL COSTS Trading Name: DBSCheckonline Website: dbscheckonline.org.uk Real Company Name: APPLICATIONS ASSIST LIMITED Company Number:11706868 Director Name: Khaleel ADAM I had paid this company £84 to get a DBS check in early September, on the same date the application was submitted, I was requested to provide proof of ID and address to complete the checks ETC... I had submitted it to them on their online portal the same day. A week had gone by and I hadn't received my application number and so I chased them for an update. They never responded. I have chased them on numerous occasions and had requested a refund since they clearly hadnt done anything. For that they immidiately responded that the fee is non refundable and that once the application has been submitted, any fees cannot be refunded. So I waited and waited expecting the check to come to my address. Six months later, nothing arrived. I then chased them again for it for which they asked me to fill in the application for ID verification in order to submit the application. So they are taking me around in circles with no end in sight. Not even processed the application after 6 months and not giving refund. They have not been able to provide me an application reference starting with the letter E even though I have asked this from them every time, so they haven't even considered making an application and have just taken my money. These kind of businesses should not be trading and should be closed down immidiately and the Directors held responsible and penalised. I can see that this has happened to every single person who has enrolled with them. Please report them to action fraud so this doest happen to others.

United Kingdom | 10 February 2022I have issues with documents I'm downloading, I explained in a full e mail the problem I am having and that I am currently abroad etc. All I got back was a standard pre-populated response they never read my e mail, what's the point. They really need to read replies, very frustrating in dealing with DBS.

Ireland | 09 January 2022I used the service back in September 2020 and paid £80 for checks. I have today realised they have been debiting me £8.00 a month for their premium cloud service. I have no idea what the service is or why they have been debiting my account for this service. I DID NOT agree to any such service and these transactions are unauthorised. In total I have been debited £128 since Sept 2020. I am furious. I have not had a single email since using the service back in September 2020 about any subscription or use of their cloud service. In my opinion this is stealing from customers. I will report the unauthorised transactions to the financial ombudsman and would advise any other customers in a similar position to do the same.

Every time I have emailed them for a VAT receipt and the dbs certificate they have ignored me. After they pushed us to getting the more expensive searches done.

All they do is collect your personal info and then go onto the .gov site and enter the details you gave them and charge you £61 admin on top of the DBS charge for the pleasure. It's a scam and you get nothing for your money, and they get all your personal data. AVOID, AVOID, AVOID! Don't waste your time and money, just go directly to the .gov website.

United Kingdom | 04 October 2021Scammers, I wish I’d read some of the negative reviews before parting £107 of non refundable cash. They promise to send out your certificate in 2-7 days however after nearly I still haven’t received one. After reading that they’re not to be trusted I ordered one from the government website for £23 and it got here in about a week.
