i’m so grateful to zero gravity for the support and assistance that they provided to me throughout my time as a mentee and now as a scholar. i’m not sure my experience at university would be the same, or even have been possible in the first place, without them.

The scholarship is super helpful especially as a student living in an expensive city it does help financially. Also what l really like about being scholar is the fact that l get weekly newsletters from Zero Gravity filled with opportunities that l can apply or sign up to.

I would not have been able to have the university experience I had without this scholarship. Being a first-generation student from a low-income background has always been a barrier for me, but the Zero Gravity scholarship got rid of that completely! I just wish it existed for PG students too!

I joined Zero Gravity when I was in YR13. They were super helpful in my university application providing me with a mentor for the degree that I wanted to pursue. I have gained experiences here that I doubt I would have been able to do if it were not for the dedication of the Zero Gravity team. Zero gravity is an amazing organisation that aims to reduce the gap between disadvantaged students to get into good university. I’ve been both a mentee and mentor on the platform and have experienced the help they provide which was really beneficial especially coming from a state school which not much advice on how to get into medical school. My mentor helped me through the different stages of the application process and I am glad to be a mentor and do the same for my mentees.

Zero gravity has helped me in every single way. I initially saw this advertised on my friends Snapchat and thought that the advertisement looked cool and that it looked really helpful but this didn’t amount to the scale that this initiative has helped me. I was paired up with my mentor in hopes of studying economics and history at Oxford. Every week, we sat down and talked about how the w could get me to that goal. From extra-curricular essay checks, personal statement checks and even HAT prep, my mentor was there. I think what stands out about zero gravity is that it’s someone who has recently been in the position that you have been in. Therefore, they know the feelings that you are going through and they provide a nuanced perspective as they understand the institution you want to enter but also know how to get there. My mentor provided weekly sessions which were personalised for me. I was ultimately rejected from Oxford but my mentor provided me with support and with hope that everything will work out. I am currently at LSE and I don’t believe I would have survived university without my mentor. He was amazing, in preparing me for what I would face in university. He provided me with ideas of what topics you do in university and how courses are structured therefore the cluelessness of being the first person in my family to enter university disappeared. I felt more confident approaching university as a whole. I would really recommend this app, you gain help that sets you for the challenge ahead and a voice that’s of similar age to you but has already been through all the things you have. It doesn’t feel scary or ridiculously professional as it was someone who just 1 year ago was in the same position as you.

I’ve had an amazing experience with zero gravity at both sixth form and university level. The opportunities and support that they provide has been a pivotal role in my success so far.
