The process was simple and I was able to do everything over the phone, so any questions I had the agent I was speaking with had the answers.

It was the first time, in many years, where finally my premium was cheaper than the previous year, rewarding me of the good behavior on the road.

Great cover at a great price. My renewal from the old insurer came through. For no reason it had jumped from €850 last year plus extra for breakdown recovery, to €1250 this year. I went to the usual price comparison places. Some wouldnt quote me as my car is a performance car . Others ranged from €1200 to €5500. I googled ‘cheap car insurance ‘ and An Post was in the results. I had presumed they’d be expensive but I checked and got fully comprehensive cover for €730. Very happy, and it’s the same underwriter as my previous insurer. I don’t know why you get nothing for loyalty with insurance in Ireland. My old insurer lost out because of greed.

When I first took out the house cover last year, I inadvertently typed my birthday as 1982. My correct year is 1983. On renewal, An Post charged me extra (around 12%). When I asked for an explanation and justification, An Post blamed it on "underwriters policy". What a joke!

The rep., Daniel, went out of his way to follow up with the underwriters and kept me updated on developments.
