I ordered a set of storage pouffes that were IN STOCK and received a confirmation of my order with delivery time around 3-5 days. Ten days later, I still hadn't received anything. So I wrote their customer service to ask about it and they said they had sent me an email one day after my order to inform that the product was now out of stock and would be back in stock only by AUGUST! I've never received that email – I even checked my junk mail – but fine, I then requested a refund. They came back to me within 24h both times and actually issued the refund in a few days, so at least they are not a scam company. But their information on stock and delivery is completely unreliable. It feels like they are just drop shipping things from China, which wouldn't be a problem if they at least showed their real delivery estimate.

Beliani customer service making it impossible to get the horrible thing out of my house, it's literally a fire hazard. Demanding photos of boxed item which is now stored away before being willing to arrange a collection with no collection date. Nobody calls back or answers emails. Reporting to trading standards. Steer clear, total cowboys.

Essentially, you will get a phone call telling you the item must be delivered on a specific time and date, if you aren’t available for it then too bad: you will have to wait another week for another random time slot that you may or may not be free for. When I finally received the dining table, I was disappointed in the quality - the top of it scratches very easily. It was quite difficult to find something with these specific extending dimensions though, so I decided to live with it. However, the extension function didn’t work either. When I tried to return it, they said I’d need to pay for this myself despite the item being faulty and them advertising a free returns policy for my area. Avoid this company at all costs - it’s just not worth it! I’m having to pursue a claim via PayPal as they’re breaching consumer regulations and their own policies. UPDATE: They’ve confirmed a return after a lot of fuss and chasing. I would still never shop with them again because: - they’ve chosen the delivery partners they want to work with and they’re not very good - for furniture in particular, delivery is an important element and you don’t want to shop with companies who don’t choose reliable couriers. (I omitted above but there was also a strange scenario with the original delivery where they went to the wrong house and the occupant had to call me because the drivers ‘didn’t have mobile phones’!) - their terms and conditions make no sense - despite the item not actually working, I was told that if I didn’t have the original box, I would only be able to get a voucher but they still expected the item back. I can think of no logical explanation for this - either way the item would need to be packed securely for a return (and if used and / or faulty it’s not resale-able anyway). It’s just there as a reason to deny people a refund (just like it costs Ryanair £0 to let people from the same booking sit together). Luckily my recycling hadn’t been taken yet and I could retrieve it. There were other strange things like I had to prove it was the original box and send pictures of the item boxed up. It’s all just there to prevent you accessing a refund. - Even when I made it clear I wanted a refund, they kept trying to talk me out of it. Additionally their phone staff are not very helpful, refusing to help on the phone regarding an email and saying they need a manager for everything, yet the managers are apparently never available… - the quality doesn’t match the pricing of the item - I’ve now seen numerous reviews flagging the scratching issue with the item and they’ve done nothing about it. It’s not a cheap item and it’s a lucky dip as to what you’ll receive. With a returns policy like this, it’s just not worth it.

United Kingdom | 17 February 2022Beliani promises free returns, that is a lie. I bought a large sofabed which weights over 80 kilos. The sofa arrived four months after Beliani charged me. It looks very different to the advertised website and it is of extremely bad quality. I asked Beliani to collect the sofa and they said that because their delivery company had opened the packaging then I needed to buy a new box to pack the sofa myself, and send it to their depot. The delivery charge is about £500. Plus I need to send a picture of the packing for Beliani to approve that it has been packed to their liking. To get refund via paypal, I was told the customer needs to pay the £500 return charges. Paypal can only cover £15 of the return charge, no matter how much the dimensions of the article bought or money spent. To get a refund via my bank account, I was told the customer needs to pay the refund charges of £500. I managed to speak to someone in PayPal and was told that several customers are having the SAME issue with this company. So I was advised that I should report this company to National Fraud & Cyber Crime Reporting Centre Why? Because the website of Beliani offers FREE delivery and returns. But that is a lie made for the financial gain of Beliani. Beliani knows that for customers to be refunded via paypal or their own bank, it is the customer the one that needs to return the goods. So that's how Beliani can afford to advertise free returns, without offering them at all.
