I published my first book with iUniverse when it first started, the second book the next year. My third book this month 11/20. The experience for all Three was very good. The Editoring service is not like tradional publishers for which you pay lots of $$$$$. They provide an Editoral Evaluation, one of their employees read the book and provide general coments and plus or minus over certain areas. As the author has the final approval of their design and content of the internal part, provided 2 editing reviews. That is the same for the front and back covers. No agent taking roalty $ from it. It is 10% if bought from B&N, Amazon, etc. and 25% if direct from iUniverse.

I appreciate the learning process between becoming a "self published author", the business of becoming familiar with the contract, the chain of command (ex.: what department does what task); and the time it took for me to become a better writer, especially one who has learned the mechanics of self publishing to the point where I learned exactly what I want in terms of text and design.

The proof of the pudding is in the eating, or so they say. In 2020 I increased my book count to 5 with the additions of #NorthernECHO and #GipsyMOTH as I continue my writing journey. I first engaged with iUniverse with my first book #OperationARGUS, I found the packages appealing in as much as it was clear what was included and what was not. With each book and through #BikiniBRAVO and then #ColdCOURAGE the process got a lot easier. My editor and Book Doctor has been the same for all 5 and he has been wonderful - guiding my writing, making constructive suggestions for change, and ultimately taking the pen to finesse the final product. The books themselves are nicely designed, and the actual books printed and presented to an exceptional quality. The iUniverse global network means that the books are available through not only their own online bookstore, but also with most of the major online retailers which makes marketing, distribution, and availability easy and accessible, globally. I aim to continue with my writing, and would have no hesitation in continuing to publish my next book, #SSIndigo and future titles to come with iUniverse.

There is no other 'duty' that a teenager can really do other than to be a companion. Look at HR Pufnstuf or Pete's Dragon or, really Star Trek's _Metamorphosis_ (Season 2, episode 9)--a human and 'companion'. On this, 'you can't go no better'. Read it and see!

From initial inspiring phone contact, and subsequent phone contacts, to excellent editorial suggestions for rewrites, to selection of beautiful font and color for cover layout, the staff produced wonderful book for me. Looking forward to working with them for my next book.

They walked me through the publishing process and as a beginning author this was very helpful.

1) My advise to iuniverse isto assign a focal point to new authors and give this position enough power to be the conductor in front of the orchester. I find it very unpleasant to deal with so many different people and different departments who usually do not reveal who the person is sending me messages. 2) My book is for sale without the three reviews in it and I find it very difficult to believe that this meets iuniverse's quality standards, it certainly does not meet mine. Both items have resulted in negative advice for collegue writers, sorry

Everyone I have worked with throughout the process at iUniverse has responded in a timely manner, made sure I understood each step, and worked quickly on their end to make sure that my book saw the light of day.

Takes lots of money to even get the book a little bit out there, plus had some slow experience with my marketing consultant since he kept delaying on talking to me after I've emailed and called numerous times, though its an easy way to get a book published and everything else was decent.

I have been with them for two years now. At first it all went well. They seem to care about you as a person until you pay them to publish your book. My book had been edited to the bone as I was first with a traditional publisher. A friend of mine purchased the book and informed me that there were two chapter 19's. When I brought it to their attention, at first they wanted me to pay to have it re formatted. I objected and made them aware the book was in a perfected state when I handed it over. Then my mama passed away and left me some money. I decided to spend 5 grand of it on marketing my book. I was told the marketing package would include social media. I forked over the 5 grand and then come to find out it was one measly little picture, tiny at that, in a Publishers Weekly magazine. When I called to complain and said I was lied to, that they told me it would feature Instagram and Facebook, they said no it was just the PW marketing package. Why would I pay 5 thousand dollars to market the book if it didn't involve social media at all!?!?! When I asked for my money back they guaranteed me that it would get more impressions than just that and I trusted them. They still won't give my money back. Now, a year later and absolutely nothing to show for the 5 grand I forked over to them, I am asking for a refund as I need that money back now, since it did me no good whatsoever and they won't budge. They have taken over 7 thousand dollars of mine in total and I have nothing to show for it. Then come to find out I only get 10% of my sales. My book has only made around $200 and I have only received $5 or so of it. It is ludicrous. I will be pulling both novels from them as soon as Monday comes around again and I can speak with someone, hopefully it is someone in America, but that has been non existent as of late. Do not publish with them. It is a waste of money and they only want that, money. They could care less about you as a person or an author.

You want honesty. Well Iuniverse in my opinion has a revolving door when it comes to employees. It seems like everytime I would find a good person they would be gone. It started with Kim my salesperson. The employees are overworked and probably under.......... Service is slow and one must constantly do follow up, it is almost non existent. Profit is the company's main motivation. Now Kelly Ferguson is a delight. Joe S......cannot remember his name was good but took over 6 months to edit my manuscript for me for which I am grateful. There was one guy from the Philippines who was excellent but the rest the kindest thing to say is they are over worked which effects the service to clients. Being a new author I lacked the experience of the book publishing industry. Not an industry I would highly recommend. I found the process much better with Xlibra as I published two short books with them. I also found out everything is under the same umbrella like Balboa with Author Solution. Fake marketing. Tt is a racket in my opinion. Good old fashion client service is a thing of the past.

Everyone was very helpful and efficient. This is unusual in these trying times, so I believe a five star rating is very much warranted.

I was contacted by Spencer Miller of IUniverse after he recognized the debacle of my book by another publisher. I had given up on the entire book. He called me every so often and was sane, kind. and knowledgeable. So I decided to go ahead with my next book with him, Somehow, redoing the first book became the priority. I am thrilled. He rescued my lifework from the dust bins of history. It is now a dual set and the publishing effort was so fine, that it was collaborative. For instance, the cover based on my pictures was so good, I had new insights. My few poems from the first publication became the second book of this set. I am working with professionals, not drones. Since they care about me and all my work, this is a long term relationship. I am grateful and proud.
