David's communication was phenomenal as he kept me up to date on their progress, and he ensured the trews were on my doorstep the date required. Whilst the wrapping, a black plastic bag, was not particularly attractive, it served its purpose of protecting the merchandise from dirt and moisture. I particularly appreciated the personal touch of including a card with a hand-written personal note of thanks for my patronage.

Great service and quick response.

I purchased a bespoke tartan waistcoat for a family wedding and the service was as specified at time of order. When the product arrived I was surprised to see that it had not been made by Donaldsons but by a third party. I have subsequently found this very waistcoat, but not in my tartan, in three retailers in Inverness. I ordered a size 46" which was the size of my other waistcoats and it was too small. It was exactly a 46" chest with no fabric ease it was a 46 from the first button to the last. It was skin tight with no room for any movement. Donaldsons have accepted the return and we have been grudgingly refunded. Thank you for your reply and I can see why there has been a problem. 1. you ask for size of chest which you were given 2. you sent exactly that size. you make no mention of of your sizing. 3. I ordered the exact same size as my other waistcoats which are marked size 46. Why do the fit? The reason is that they have built in 'fabric ease' which is defined as "Technically, fabric ease refers to the difference between the finished measurement of the garment and the measurements of the wearer's body" A recommendation for you: make it clear that you are asking for exact physical measurements and not the measurements of the finished garment. 4. David re read you last email which had a very grumpy tone hence 'grudgingly' Thank you for the refund.

I purchased 5 tartan ties for a funeral. I did it online and via telephone. Not all the tartans required were available but the Donaldson's representative was great and talked me through what could and couldn't be done in the relatively short timeframe available and suggested some alternatives. Very professional and asy to do business with.
