Canada | 05 July 2024Our bags were left in Luggage Forward's care in Cape Town following a cruise. I didn't see mine again for 46 days; my wife's took 32. The delays were often holdups at customs and I was genuinely surprised at how impotent LF was to do anything about it. Of greater concern was the quality of communication during the delays. There was a tendency to be only reactive, responding to pleas for info. In the first week, LF sent an email to say the bags had been dropped off at our door; in reality, they were still in South Africa. Most responses were boiler-plate messages about LF "working tirelessly" and "thank you for your patience". The company offered no compensation, unless one considers a credit for future use of the service to be compensation. Alas, we've learned our lesson

It made all the difference for us, not having to deal with lugging heavy bag to and from airport. They picked up bag outside our stateroom door, and next time we saw it was at our front door at home. Service was worth every penny.

Norway | 04 July 2024Luggage was picked up and delivered as promised and in perfect condition. Normally we put all prescription medications in our carry on but the rules specified that NO medications be included on the shipped luggage. This meant that all the over the counter meds had to go in our carry on. Normally I organize these in my “medication “ bag for easy access. It made things a little disjointed after we arrived at the hotel sorting them out! This is probably not an issue for younger travelers but when you’re almost 80 you have to be prepared for everything!

United States | 04 July 2024We shipped a large suitcase from our home to meet us for a lengthy Viking River cruise. This meant we only needed carry on luggage for our pre-cruise extension in Prague. Not having to check the extra, larger bag or schlep it through customs made the trip much easier. Ditto for the return from Amsterdam. The process was so easy. The bag was waiting for us onboard the Ve in Budapest and was seamlessly picked up from the boat in Amsterdam despite the change to a different ship required by the high water on the rivers. Arrived timely back at home.

United States | 03 July 2024In the end the luggage got where it was supposed to go. But there were a lot of anxious moments in between. We wanted the luggage shipped from a city where we were only briefly passing through. So I asked that we could drop off the bag instead of it being picked up. They said that they could do that but it didn't happen. I also wanted the luggage tags sent to our hotel in a previous city. Again, they said that they could do that, but it didn't happen. The tags were assigned a Fedex tracking number but Fedex never got the package. And nobody seemed to notice this except me. When I contacted Luggage Forward, I was told that a second set of tags would be sent. I was asked where to send them and I replied to the same address as original (not the pickup city but our previous hotel). I had repeated contacts with various LF employees. Each assured me that the tags were being sent to the correct place. But no tracking was ever given. I asked at the hotel desk several times each day but the package was never there. In the end, the tags went to our hotel in the pickup city. This meant that we had to get to that hotel, put the tags on, and be ready for pickup within a very short time instead of being all ready when we got there. (I had given up on the drop-off idea by this point.) The pickup person ended up arriving hours early so the hotel told them to come back the next day. From that point on everything went smoothly. But I had a lot of anxious times before that. At times I wondered if this was a really business or just a scam. It all would have been better if first, someone had paid attention to the luggage tag tracking to ensure that it was actually going somewhere and, second, the various employees that I interacted with had not promised what they, apparantly, could not deliver. That is to send the tags where I wanted them and not to where I did not. If I had received the tags ahead of time, I would not have spent all my time worrying instead of enjoying my vacation.

United States | 02 July 2024Set up and delivery all went smoothly. However luggage pick-up didn't go well. We arrived as planned at the cruise terminal in Barcelona. The instructions said to look for an agent that would have our name. We looked and waited for almost 2 hours after disembarking and didn't find anyone. We tried calling but the office wasn't open. We left with our luggage. Later we were able to arrange pick from our hotel and that all went well.
