The online content is nicely broken into thematic pieces that are followed by quizzes and quick tests to help memorizing. Each more complex subject is explained by both animation and text with visual aids. Plus a lot of additional tools, such as chart plotter and radar simulators or flip cards for lights and shapes. A set of charts, tools and the almanac was delivered within a few days of booking the course. Superb!

The online course is an excellent way to learn at your own pace, fitting in around other commitments, with support and encouragement provided from a skilled, experienced team when needed.

The course material is excellent, the key subject matter is very well illustrated and explained, and the exercises are well designed to provide good practice and learning by doing. I very much enjoyed the course and feel that it meets the objective of preparation for the Day Skipper practical course extremely well. The Navathome team are both helpful and professional, dealing with any correspondence promptly and clearly.

A good experience overall, some of the feedback and suggestions when making errors could be strenghened but I had no reall issues. I didn't need additional support but it was good to know I could get it if needed. Being able to be flexible with the lessons was a big help.

It really wasn't for me. The quiz questions seemed to have lots of questions that were not covered in the course material and so I would spend hours looking for information rather than trying to learn information. It became so frustrating that I gave up and will now do a classroom based course so this has been a very expensive waste of money. I probably would be more understanding if when I did try and revisit the course they didn't immediately ask for more money to gain access to it. Really - sorry that's just profiteering, why would you want to charge me to access an online course I've already paid for. If asked by friends I would tell to avoid.

A good course which follows a logical progression through the subject, like other navigation courses it is always hard to pick a starting point because something can come up that has not yet been covered at that point. However the course tackled various parts of subjects early on and then as the course progressed the rest followed making specific topics easier to understand. By the time I was halfway through the "light bulb" came on and it started to get easier to understand. The website is easy to follow and works smoothly and allows you within certain limitations to go back over the various topics. Highly recommended for those wishing to cross oceans with a traditional skill as back up. If you rely on something electronic it will fail at some point, usually at a critical time..

The courses were well-prepared, interesting and easy to follow. Thanks to the help of NavAtHome staff, the examination experience was smooth as well.

Very informative and clearly laid out - was able to fit easily around a full-time job, and I now feel safer on the water having completed the course.

I found the whole experience very satisfactory. The online instruction was crystal clear and very accessible, the syllabus was covered very thoroughly, the exercises and coursework were at an entirely appropriate level, and the support and feedback were excellent. The "back room" support from Plymouth Sailing School was also outstanding.
